oh my god! i actually thought the exact same thing! i was about to write a thread on it and saw yours! i thought it seemed obvious that something like that would happen, just the way the scene was set up, like you said, they were in seconds of each other.
i think it would be a good storyline and is quite unusual for emmerdale.
