Toxic Tracy gets a bodyguard

Coronation Street's Kate Ford has been given a bodyguard after confused members of the public hurled abuse at her during filming over her murder storyline.

People were heard yelling "murderer" and "rot in hell" as Kate arrived to film her character Tracy Barlow's trial in Bradford.

A show source said: "Some fans have been getting a bit over-excited, shouting things at her. One woman screamed, 'You murdering bItch' and Kate was quite rattled.

"Bosses decided she could do with some tighter security, just in case anyone does anything silly."

Coronation Street has been filming on location in Bradford's city hall for over a week attracting huge crowds.

Tracy's murder trial is set to be one of the ITV1 soap's most explosive storylines. She stands accused of murdering boyfriend Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward).

On Monday, producers filmed two endings to keep Coronation Street fans guessing about whether or not Tracy gets sent down.

The trial starts on March 26 with the verdict being screened on April 2

Had to laugh on Monday when steve said to Tracey, you'll have the support of all your family & friends, I bet the whole country was shouting, WHAT FRIENDS, she hasn't got any.

When deirdre was in prison it was mentioned in the house of commons to free her lol so it does not suprise me that people were shouting abuse at her we all get so carried away we forget it is just a soap

I feel sorry for Kate but it's bound to happen because of the effective and central role she's taken on - a pretend abuse sufferer who killed in cold blood. Also in magazines she sort of defends Tracy saying she would prefer she didn't get found guilty etc, maybe that irritates people
I just hope justice is done for Charlie

If you can't tell the diff between the actress and her charecter you have real probs
