Emmerdale producers are hoping to dissuade Verity Rushworth from taking an extended break from the show.

An official statement from the soap earlier this month confirmed that the actress, who plays Donna Windsor-Dingle, may decide to take time off when her contract expires at the end of the year.

"Verity has been playing Donna for more than ten years so she's thinking about taking an extended break," an insider told the Daily Star Sunday. "It's only something that she's thinking about. No decision has been made yet.

"She's got some really exciting stuff coming and her contract doesn't run out until the end of the year, so there's still a bit of time to persuade her to stay. She'd be a huge loss."

This is tabloid nonsence.

Verity IS leaving but the bigwigs are not worried about it.



They have better actresses like Georgia Slowe, Lucy Pargeter, Charlotte Bellamy.

In the article that broke about Jenna and Verity leaving, it was mentioned that Miles was axed.

I can't imagine why there is a panic? Donna can leave - no skin off my nose. i will be sad for Marlon tho.

No. She's back next week and a revenge plot is rumoured to be in the pipeline which will see the exit of Chris Villiers and Richard Grieve.

i like her character, she has been in it since she was quite young, she really needs a break
