Repeats of the fantastic first series of Green Wing begin on weekday nights from 20th March. The first one goes out at 11pm and the rest will be at the same sort of time but with minor variations.

The dvd of the first series is scheduled to be released in early April.

The long-anticipated second series will start shortly after the repeats.

This is a great way to do it! I'm sure all those who enjoyed the Green Wing first time round will welcome the opportunity to see it again. And an excellent preparation for the upcoming second series!

I never saw the first few episodes first time round (I was very late realizing what a fab programme it was) so it was a real treat seeing it this time!

... was also fab to see the first episode of The Ghost Squad, which I hadn't seen the first time around either... love TGS too!

Last night's 'Party' episode has to be one of my favourites -- *hilarious*

For me, it's the music that adds a lot to the comedy. Those weird and lovely sounds punctuating the action. There's one piece with a woman's voice in the background saying 'Oh yeah'. Love it!

I really love the style of Green Wing, with the ambient music, and action which has been slowed down and speeded up to fit in with it... I don't really know why, but it reminds me a lot of "Blue Jam" from about 10 years ago...

Emma, Blue Jam is another of my all time favourite programmes. The surreal, Chris Morris humour and presentation is/was way ahead of its time, IMHO.

Very controversial too!

*grins* ... gotta love Chris Morris... he is indeed a star ... I never actually saw any of Jam (the TV version) maybe an episode but if so that was it... but I heard an awful lot of Blue Jam (the radio version) usually only realizing half way through each episode what exactly it was I was listening to, since it was on very late at night, usually while I was up late working on my dissertation, and not concentrating properly! ... really loved it.

I saw the first ep of the new series the other day, and I'm happy to be able to confirm that imho it's as fabulous and weird and downright dirty as ever. I was laughing out loud during the opening scene, and many times thereafter...

How could you not love a show that contains the line "Your wife's in reception with the rest of your beard." ?!

That's excellent news. I was worried after reading a short Alison Graham bit in the RT.

Dr Statham banging his head made me laugh so hard, LMAO Big Grin

Good start to the new series....I think they're going a bit OTT with Sue White, though. Less is more.

Quote of the episode:
"We're Hindu, you nipple!"
