Well this is going to sound strange coming from a guy but still. I'm all for intresting documentries but come on 'extra-ordinary breast-feeding'- do you honestly think apart from teenage boys and preverts-who else would watch it. so that you can show woman breast at 9pm and says it educational?.

Don't you have any standard-at least ch5 provides better documentries 'mermaid child'-that intresting and heart-felt.

You can see breasts during the day, at 8PM, etc, it's a common thing now. If you can see a lump of someones faeces on You are what you eat then what is so offensive about a breast or a bum? People have such hang-ups about bodies.

Two of the women featured on the show were on Richard and Judy today, and it doesn't look like it's going to be a cheap excuse to show breasts. Perhaps you should be a bit more informed about shows before making comments about them in the future? It's looking at the taboos of breast-feeding and that is a thing present, with people having differing opinions on whether women should be allowed to even breastfeed in public, no medical experts saying that breast-feeding after the child has left what is considered a young age has any negative effects, etc.

I dobut many teenage boys will watch this, a woman breast feeding isnt sexy in the slighest.

however I think its a good idea, show that the little britain sketch isnt just fanasty but possibly based on real life

I find it more shocking that on E4 last night someone very nearly hung themself, and who's to say someone watching isn't going to copy that and unfortunately, die? There are bigger things to complain about.

the thing i object to with this, is that there's already an ugh! attitude to breastfeeding in this country and not enough mothers breastfeeding without sensationalist programming like this.

breastfeeding mums who feed children into toddlerhood are few and far between, i think most of us were glad to wean, and very few women just flop their jugs out in public willy nilly. i managed to feed out and about discreetly, with nobody noticing.

as long as programmes like this are made there will always be people like bala who think it's some unatural, weird, sexual act.

yes I hope the show, does point out that it breastfeeding is a good thing, at the right age.

it maybe to logical for some, but women produce milk for a reason, so breastfeeding is probaly what is best.

*holds up hand*

i'm guilty of commenting without seeing it. but the trailer alone made it look like a bunch of extreme earth mothers doing no good at all for the BF cause.

You're not doing that, you're just making dumb comments.

EL- I seen the advert but didn't pay any notice, and then I seen it again, and with the pop music in the background, etc, I can see what you mean. I think it's a shame there is an 'ugh' attitude to breastfeeding in general, cos it is natural and there's nothing wrong with it.

I cant see how you can stand a moral ground on a program you have yet to see. Can you really be informed about a programs context cleary by its trailer? Take for example a film critic, they cannot give a film a rating on the basis that the trailer looks crap or not so good

Of course you should watch it, you fool. You'll learn about something that's completely natural, in spite of popular opinion and ill-informed individuals such as yourself. I saw the two ladies on R&J as well as Dandy.

Channel 4 has nothing but reality shows, cheap and nasty softcore sex programs wrapped up as being educational or saucy, and US import shows.

What moral high ground? I can't see any!

Is a cat suckling kittens just as disgusting to you? Because it's the same thing in principle.

Women have breasts so that they can suckle their young. Contrary to popular belief mammary glands are not just there to be gawped at in Nuts magazine or on Page 3! Wink They have a purpose, and it's not dirty, weird or unnatural in the slightest.

Having said that, it's a shame that the programme trailer seemed to sensationalise the show with the controversial 'older children' aspect. I'm not watching it, forgot it was on so I can't comment on the prog itself.

As an extended breastfeeder myself (I fed my son for 22 months and only stopped because I had to go into hospital for an operation) I found the programme very interesting and informative. I hope it serves to educate people and show that breastfeeding a toddler or older child is not something weird but perfectly natural.
