My 4 month old dog keeps barking, we have had her about a week now, I walk her 4 times a day for at least half an hour & play with her & am at home with her all day but she keeps barking when we are just sat, when I tell her to stop she runs around like mad & barks even more. I have tried to ignore her but that just makes her jump on me. I have tried to teach her not to bark by rewarding her when she stops but thats not working. She is well behaved around the house apart from this problem, if anyone knows why she does this & how to deal with it please help, she is driving me mad.

They usually bark for attention, don't they? Have you tried giving her a cuddle and stroking her calmly, and hoping she'll go to sleep for a while?

One of my dogs barks a lot, the other hardly ever. Both brought up the same.....must have gone wrong somewhere!
