it should be removed from the air... i have to deal with that it describes every day... making fun of something that causes so much distress is disgusting
it show a woman who has missed E4 shows during week as a consequence she developed some abnormalities such excessive facial hair, awful teeth & boils on her skin.
She go to pharmancy and he gives her 'second chance tablets and she back to normal except for her manly voice'
the advert is offensive to those who have 'disgusting hormonal defects' as the wonderful E4 terms it... it might be a spoof of hair products, but it is unnecessary and disgusting... some of us have to deal with these things every single day of our lives with much stigma and abuse...
exactly... you might not know about it but i do... ive had to come off tablets for tests and im dealing with it right now and will be having to do so for another few weeks yet until my tests are over and i can go back on hormone control tablets... its come on at a very bad time for me, but there are women out there who are unable to have medication to deal with this and have to deal with people looking at them every day, being thought of as less of a woman because of it and things like this do nothing for the stigma and how it is seen by the general public who have no idea what it feels like to have to deal with facial hair when you are female... it is not accepted in our society and this is not helping those thousands of people out there who are probably as offended and disgusted as me but feel unable, or too embarrassed to talk about it! this is a REAL problem we have to deal with and people such as C4 and E4 should be more responsible...
i have sent an email to C4, if I have no reply then i will make a formal complaint. I know my one complaint will not have it taken off the air which is a shame... at first it upset me alot, now it bugs me that these big companies can be so insensitive.
programmes that cause offense can be missed, trailers and adverts are on all the time and you never know when it will come on
i thought it was quite offensive as well i was a little shocked. i have noticed that this isnt the first advert that has caues offense. the skins trailer for when it first came out caused a lot of contraversial (sp) opinions. i found it was offensive. i do have to say that the E4 channel i believe is aimed at people my age (18) and therefore the people at E4 think this is the sort of thing that will appeal to this age group.
