Are these Armenians from Armenia?

Or is everyone misspelling Americans.

I`m confused as there is such a country as Armenia whose nationals are known as Armenians.

ARMENIANS are from ARMENIA.
It's a country in the East near/between Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran and near Iraq.
It's got a history of genocide, and most people moved into Iran and some went on to the Western World.
It's capital is Yereva.

Armenians... it might be a non-existent word, but that wouldn't stop the thick American cops in The Sheild using the term... they are refering to people from Armenia... so what should they be called if the thick American cops on The Sheild weren't thick, and the rest of us knew what they should be saying?
