Well part 2 was excellent as per usual, i just knew mickey was going stay there as soon as ricky died, it's a shame that no-way this character can come back.

I could see Mickey staying ever since Rickey died, I thought it was going to happy. Otherwise, I pretty much enjoyed it. It was nice to see the Doctor at least question (albeit very briefly) about whether killing the Cybermen was the right thing to do. I think the Doc recognised the contribution Mickey made too. And Rose's day, on that rope ladder, I guessed he was going to jump and tackle the cyberman and save the day whilst dying at the same time...but he didn't.

Yeah, I get what you mean, although Doctor no. 9 I always thought was harsh on Mickey (rightly or wrongly) and this doc seemed to have mellowed in his approach.

Yeah, I think you're right about Rose and tbh i'd forgotten about WW3. But it will be interesting to see if Rose has changed from this, I mean ok she has a thing for the Doc but then she seemed really upset with Mickey leaving so it will be interesting to see if that goes anywhere, or if her character changes at all.

First off my twocents on the Angel debate between bala and grandslam.

Grandslam - you should see Season 5 of Angel, it is good though not as good as Season 4 IMO. Spike doesn't wreck S5 but he isn't the highlight of it either. They are times when it's obvious the writers were having a hard time incorporating him into the series though.

As for Spike attempting to rape Buffy in Season 6 - that horrified me but what really dusigusted me is that Spike never made an attempt to apologise to her in Season 7. Not that an apology would've made it okay but attempted rape is a serious thing and I felt the writers skimmed over it because viewers *loved* Spike so much.

The only shows I have DVD wise, are Buffy, Angel, Six Feet Under, Lost, Desperate Housewives, The Sopranos, Nip/Tuck and Doctor Who.

Thoughts on "The Age Of Steel"

The Doctor - Did he really save the day here? Sure he gave Mickey a lot of information and thwarted a few Cybermen but he still managed to get captured.

Lumic - The guy is a lunatic but I already knew that. His version as a Cyberman looked a little different IMO but the fact that they are more Cybermen out there means this storyline probably isn't done with.

Cybermen - We got more of them this week and they did manage to kill some signifcant people along the way too.

Pete/Rose - This was an interesting reversal of the relationship from "Father's Day". Pete didn't want to know about Rose at the end but I think a lot of that had to do with losing Jackie in the process. Rose hugging the real Jackie was touching.

The Preachers - Both Ricky and Mrs Moore were killed and Jake is a hotheaded bloke at times too. I liked the connection of Pete being with Gemini and Riuck being wanted for parking tickets.

Mickey - The real hero of this entire two-parter, this was an excellent swan song for Noel Clarke. Mickey rightfully assumed the role of leader, displayed logic and refused to take any more putdown from The Doctor or Jake. In my opinion he was the best thing about the last two episode.

Rating: 10/10.
