Grandslam - Season 5 of Angel is well worth watching and they are good episodes, especially "Destiny" and "You're Welcome" to name two.

Camille Coduri's acting - yep very good but Noel Clarke was the best thing about this Cyberman two parter.

There were many highlights but Angelus was good

Angelus is ALWAYS good viewing. Big Grin

The mind games he played whilst imprisoned in the cage were excellent.

Plus the return of Faith.

And the fight between Angel and Angelus was every fans dream ( ithink every fanfic writer has done a story featuring a showdown between Angel and Angelus!).

Season 5 had lots of highlights. And some really excellent episodes. "Just Rewards", and "Smile Time", being a couple of those excellent eps. With "You`re welcome" being a truely magnificent episode.

Season 5 also had it horrendous clangers as well. "The Girl in Question" was absolutely dire. The ONLY reason for this episode`s existance was the appearance of Buffy, but SMG refused to take part so they used a double. Which really negated the whole point of the story. Besides which, Spike and Angel were so badly written as to almost unrecognisable.

********************************
John Smith: So what am I then? Nothing. I`m just a story.

Doctor: You`re an echo. That`s all. A TimeLord is so much more. A sum of knowledge; a code. A shared history. A shared suffering. Only it`s gone now, all of it. Gone forever.

Tell me about. I'm half an hour of a 90 minutes bus journey and even talking to a friend I was bored.

Looking forward to Saturday's episode!

I don't like buses, they tend to smell.

And objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are.

It was an ok episode, I enjoyed the Coronation stuff but I thought the doc might've said soemthing to Rose about her dad at the end when she told that lad to go off with his dad.

Thoughts on The Idiot's Lantern

The Doctor - He was riding a scooter you guys but he wasn't quite as interesting to watch this week until Rose was put into jeopardy TBH.

Detective Inspector Bishop - Why do police men on other series have to be so inneffectual? At least this guy was sort of sympathetic.

Eddie - What a pr**k! I hated him throughout the episode and they fact he was ratting on his neighbours only heightened that.

Mr Magpie - Poor spinless, idiot. Willing servant to The Wire like that.

The Wire - Good guest star in Maureen Lipman, a good villain but it seems the writers were trying to make her the new Cassandra with her non-stop "hungry" talk. Could see her coming back next season.

Rose - Doesn't Billie Piper pull off pink quite well? Shouldn't Rose get a medal for figuring how people were becoming faceless even if she happened to become a victim of The Wire? Rose is improving this season.

Tommy - I saw assistan potential here. His scenes with The Doctor and Rose were great and him standing up to Eddie was brilliant.

Rita - Good character, glad she kicked Eddie out but could've been given more to do.

Not bad but the last four have been better - 7/10.

Quotes

The Doctor (re police): “How did they get away from us?”
Rose: “I’m surprised they didn’t arrest you for reckless driving. Did you even pass your test?”

Eddie: “I am talking”
The Doctor: “And I’m not listening”.

Rose (to Eddie): “Only an idiot hangs a Union Jack flag upside down. Shame on you!”

The Doctor (to Magpie): “Tell me who’s in charge here”
The Wire: “Yoo-hoo, that would be me”.

Rose (re Eddie): “He’s your Dad”
Tommy: “He’s an idiot”
Rose: “Course he is”.

next week's episode judging from previews doesn't look too great.
