Apparently, in the US and Far East, High Definition TV is facing competition from something better than HD . . . a parallel format, but, with better quality than HD ... anyone know anything more about it?
I don't want to shell out for inferior technology.

There's nothing wrong with analogue.

I don't want to shell out for inferior technology. Betamax was much superior to VHS. And look what happened to betamax!! Those of us who went with superiority were left with equipment that was rendered obsolete because the vast majority went with what was cheap.

Planearm? Do you have HD? My Sister has had it installed recently, and I must admit the picture quality is excellent. My brother in law loves watching a programme in the morning called (I think) Daybreak. It shows sunrise in various parts of the world. Apparently it focusses in on something (an animal, or something), and you watch that as the sun rises in the background. There`s no commentary, or voice over, just the sounds that comes with the dawn as the animals and the landscape wake up.

Yes I have HD. The programme you refer to is called Sunrise Earth.Maybe someone from Channel 4 could explain why they have launched a HD channel when virtually nothing on it is broadcast in HD?
