just a word to say what a lightweight effort this was. hardly any in depth questioning, no questioning of the tourists involved, no discussion of the thai economy, culture (sexual), history
it never said for example that it is actually thai men who are the by far the most numerous customers of the ladies. There were no statistics of how many ladies leave thailand each year when these due to the stringent visa requirements should be available. or of course how many return after failed relationships.
also the programmed makers deceived the audience. A Film of one of the girls supposedly starting work in the notorious Nana plaza was not so. The bar was in a bar complex on Street 1 (soi 1) some 15 mins walk from the plaza (but a bar nontheless!)Doubtless the Nana bar owners refused to allow filming. Couldn't some of the guys have been interviewed, they could have been kept anonymous?
All in all what could have been an insightful documentary was quite boring and one dimensional.
