I need help.

I have two spayed female dogs. I rescued them from the pound over a year ago at the same time. One is a terrier cross, the other a collie cross. The terrier cross is guessed to be about 4/5 years and the collie cross about 2 years. I've had them for a year and they have lived in perfect harmony together but everything kicked off last Friday. The terrier cross suddenly attacked the collie cross and a vicious fight ensued with blood flying. I separated them but they soon went for each other again. This has been happening on and off until today. It can't be over possessions as I hadn't given them anything. All I can think of is that the terrier is trying to dominate the collie as she has now grown up and is no longer a puppy. I've been told to just let them go at it and they'll sort it out - it's a dog thing - but I'm scared that they are really going to hurt each other. When I am out of the house they don't go near each other, it all kicks off when I come home. The terrier has always been the dominant one - she's been like a mum to the collie. I have noticed that the collie has become more lively and is trying to bounce the terrier out the way when you talk to the terrier. Can anyone help me? It's upsetting me as they used to get along so well and to have to deal with loads of blood and puncture holes in each of them isn't much fun.

It`s probably too late now.

But if it only happens when you`re around then YOU are the cause.

The Terrier is obviously getting p!ssed off with the Collie trying to grab your attention while it`s getting some.

The most obvious answer, if you want to keep both dogs, is take them both to behavioural classess. Or visit a dog psychiatrist. Not only will he diagnose the problem, he`ll also give you a course of action to take..

Personally, i`d take a bucket of cold water to the pair of them when they are fighting. Suddenly getting doused in cold water will stop them fighting, at least for the moment.

Doctor: You`re an echo. That`s all. A TimeLord is so much more. A sum of knowledge; a code. A shared history. A shared suffering. Only it`s gone now, all of it. Gone forever.
