What kind of reaction would there be if I should start up a thread about Doctor Who in the BB thread?

Look what happened when someone started up a Doctor Who thread in the News forum. The MODS moved it to it`s proper place in the Cult TV forum.

So it would be interesting to find out if the MODS would move any BB8 overspill posts from here back into the BB forums.

Why would they? This forum is called 'Discuss' and it's for discussing C4 programmes. it's not like the News forum.... that's got a more specific brief.

Did you see the BB on the Couch (????) program last night, one of them was saying that licking your lips from side to side is a sign that you are liking what's happening or what you're talking about etc etc, she did LOADS of that on the hi-lights show last night LOL

I missed the "new" BB On The Couch show with Davina and the psychologists. Was it very different to the "old" BB's Big Brain with Dermot and the psychologists?!

(I got the impression it was exactly the same idea and format only they'd canned poor old Dermut... )

But wasn`t the WHOLE point of C4 creating a BB forum so as to give BB fans a place of their own? Where they could chat with OTHER fans of the show?

Isn`t that really the whole point in C4 creating ALL the differing forums? So that everyone has a place they can talk about similar things.

If you`re a BB fan, why wouldn`t you "dream" of posting in the BB forums? Are you too scared to expand and make more forum buddies? They, and you already have at least one thing in common..... you all like the same show. It`s surely not THAT hard to progress on from there?

i used to watch it sometimes but i've never so much as glanced at it this time round.

Well.....Firstly, I'm not a BB fan especially but I don't mind the odd reference to it amongst friends. I used to go into the BB chatroom sometimes.. it was maaaaaaaaaad!

Secondly.... I've found the BB forums a little too hectic for my taste and I doubt it would be easy to find a kindred spirit... and I don't have the time!

Thirdly... I have some nice Forum friends and and not really on the look out for a whole new experience or environment.

Fourthly.... there are specialist forums for sure... but what is our specialism? It's discussing c4 programmes, I don't see why any particular show should be vetoed. Might as well close Discuss down if we can't discuss telly.

You`regetting harrangued?

I thought I was the one getting harrangued for objecting to BB threads outside the BB forums.

As to "our specialism", well I would have thought that was easy, this forum is to chat about the C4 shows NOT COVERED by their own forums. Admittedly when BB is on, C4 devote virtually all their airtime to it, leaving not a lot of other programming to chat about. But that was probably why C4 gave the BB forums so MUCH space to start with.

In reply to the whole BB thread debate.......

Lost has it's own forum and a thread or two on here, and it's not even on C4 anymore. CSI - Channel 5, Dr Who - BBC .........

I kinda like the way this form can have a little bit of everything that the people who come here can discuss

Regarding the BB forums, they are very very different to here. I do sometimes post on them, but it's very fast moving, give it a go! By the time you have clicked the post button and the reply comes up the thread you have posted on can be 3/4 of the way down the page. It moves very quickly and can be full of arguing and pointless threads. TBH I'd much rather discuss it here where you can get a proper conversation going on it rather than trawl the threads on GBBF to find something worth replying to

Well, I suppose my objection to it this time around is because I watched some of the last CBB, and went into the CBB forums to post, and found the forum full of "children", and/or childish posts. And a lot of near flaming.

Up until then I had never watched BB, so had had no reason to venture in the forums, nor any reason to object to a thread or two appearing elsewhere.

and you should know why some of us want to post on 'one' thread in a quiet little back water.

now can't we all just settle down and post about whichever C4 programmes that we want to before this forum starts to resemble the BB house?

Each place has it's own community... mind you, without Wamdue here to complain and with Bala having lost his mojo in terms of being offensive and daft..... ( * hopes) it would be a shame NOT to argue about BB just a little bit!

I've been a patron here for blinking years..... I dont like the BB forums..I've seen some terrible fights there and it's just too fast.
