Maybe the dog doesn`t like small children.
What kind of environment did you get him from? were there young children in the house?
Have you watched how your daughter interacts with the dog? is she teasing it, or taking his stuff away from him.
Please be aware that just because your dog is not a Doberman, Pit Bull, or Rottweiler, it doesn`t mean that it can`t, or won`t, turn on your daughter. Even small yorkshire terriers can cause significant damage on a small child should it turn nasty.
