How frequently have we asked the question: 'When will C4 show NYPD BLUE'? And yet the topic still fails to get a mention on this website's FAQs. C4, you are a disorganised shambles of an excuse for a TV Channel. And while I'm here, what's all this about More Four, a new channel launching in the autumn. Is it a subscription channel or will I be able to get it on Freeview...and will it show NYPD Blue??? BBNYPDB NOW!!!!!
Apparently S6 of the West Wing is to be shown on this More4 rip off and they aren't gonna show S5 on C4. I am beyond peeved. Why do they even bother buying these American shows if they are just gonna piss around with them and traumatise their loyal viewers.

More4 is a digital channel which we plan to launch in the autumn. It will feature serious factual and drama programmes, both repeats from Channel 4 and original material. It will be available on Freeview. There are currently no plans to Show NYPD Blue on More4. Not quite sure why you describe the channel as a "rip off"- after all, it's us who are paying for it!
Spartacus- As soon as it's acceptable to use rhyming slang to indicate sexual swearwords I will let you know. Until then, please make an effort to retain a semblance of civility.

Been following you all on this off and on for ages and equally pi$$ed off that C4 won't show S10. Anyway, just to give you the heads up, but this could equally pi$$ you off even more. I received an email from RTE. S10 of the Blue is airing on RTE1 from 29th September. I've fired off an email to them to clarify that they are showing it in it's entirety.
If you are on Sky you could call them up and say you've moved to NI and you'd like your region changed. We get RTE through Sky here. Don't hold me to this, but I could maybe help out with seeing if I could get hold of some addresses of households who are NTL/Freeview and highly unlikely to move to Sky.

I thought anyone who has sky at the mo can get RTE - Channel 267 or something like that .... but still great news if they do show it.. as no one else was going too...

There won't be any Big Brother on More4. Repeats will be of documentary strands such as Dispatches and Cutting Edge, and one-offs like The Real Da Vinci Code or The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off; the sort of programmes which generate a lot of interest but only get shown once in peak on Channel 4.
As RTE are going to show S10, why not beat them to it so you can get the viewers instead? As if/when you finally do decide to show it, there may be less people watching it as those who watched it on RTE may not watch it again on C4. Or is that the general idea so you claim it's even less popular to stall S11 and S12?

But as you broadcast in the ROI on at least the Sky platform surely someone takes into account what RTE are screening. On second thoughts maybe not seeing as RTE have been showing "Lost" from May 23rd. Could this be a sign then? 10 weeks after the end of September you will screen S10 of NYPD?
I hope the trailers for the Blue will be as good as the ones you put together for Lost.
My understanding is that Sky do not carry Channel 4 in the ROI- like the analogue signal, the terms of our license forbid this. Cable services can carry Channel 4 due to a loophole in EU legislation.
I wouldn't take any RTE scheduling as being a factor in what/when we broadcast.
Thanks, C4VE, it's good news that More4 will be available on Freeview, but it would be even better if if was able to show NYPD Blue. If it's a 24-hour channel, why not just bung it on at 3am, then we can tape it? Last time NYPD Blue was shown on RTE, a bunch of us ran a video-lending service, thanks to someone called Auntie Senior, who taped it for us then posted it on. Sadly, we've lost touch with Auntie Senior, but is there anyone with access to RTE who would be willing to tape it and post it on? (There would be v little expense involved).. Just a thought. BBNYPDB
