Its that time again..when we here from the want to be political parties that we havn't seen doing anything in our communities suddenly become visible. We of course also see those who claim to have served us well so far, but in fact have not listened to our views and made a real mess, wasted our money and now try to convince us that they have to cut services in order to keep up with the times and modernise or is it the reality that they have wasted so much of our money that the council tax has increased and we get less for it because they are in danger of getting our communities into debt.

who will you vote for.........I will be voting for ANYONE ELSE.

Any one else- meaning anyone other than the predominant party in my area who have been around for to long and feel to safe because of Voter aperthy and the reliance on the tradintional (My, Dad and Grandad Voted ?).

What is wrong with the last few generations can we not decide for ourselves, Do we not care about ours and our families future. If you Do then Vote and Vote for who YOU WANT not in loving memory of mum, dad or grandad.

It's a wasted vote -- especially in the area I live, but I'm going for the Green Party.

Hi ya all,
Bagal - if there is realy no one you want to vote for, use your vote to get rid of the guy who is in your area already.

Roy - Its only wasted if you don't vote great to see that you are going to.

Ninjybear - Thats the idea.

Spread the word, talk to your friends, family and workmates get them to talk to their friends, the more people that VOTE FOR ANYONE ELSE the louder the message sent to the establishment that it is time to listen to US.

Have fun and good luck.

I am delighted that, living in Scotland, i do not have to be subjected to an electoral fight at the moment.
I always vote, but it is nice to have no new elections on your horizon.

Rich1, if you think the establishment is ever going to really listen to the people then you are far more optimistic than i am.

Hi, Andrew
you are right may be I am an optomist.

I just feel that our elected representitives need a short sharpe shock. They have more power now than ever. This is because they feel to safe in their possitions, in fact in my area if you stand for election representing one particular party at lets say 18 years old if your name is not taken off the ballot paper you could still be a member of local government long after death.

I just feel that we all need to use our vote not just in this election but in all elections to really let these people Know they are ellected to represent US, not their own interests. and if they fail to represent us we will uses our vote against them. I know that it may take a long time to get the message across and maybe just maybe if enough of us try we can bring the POWER back to the people because that is what democracy should be about.

Thanks for joining in with this discussion Andy.

TO ALL
Use your vote and if your not happy with your current representitive VOTE FOR ANYONE ELSE

I agree that the establishment needs shooken up. But for me it has to be in electoral reform. The first past the post for general elections is highly undemocratic.

Another idea would be to abolish political parties. Sounds ridiculous, but why not?

Hi Andrew,
your probably right maybe we should get rid of party politics. I would be happy with proportional representation, with a cabinet made up proportionally according to percentage of the national vote by which they were elected. At least in this way people who ligitimatly chose a representitive would have a voice in parliement.
