Similarly, why was a censored version of "Sex and Lucia" broadcast on C4? It has an uncut 18 certificate from the BBFC, which, according to Ofcom’s regulations, means it can be shown on any channel after 21.00?
I have still not received a reply to the above enquiry/complaint despite being posted in this thread, and being emailed to C4 on a number of occasions:- This is particularly pertinent as C4 are about to start the second season of there 'Dark Side of Porn' documentaries - will theses be the same censored rubbish as is normal for C4, or have you finally decided to treat your adult viewers with some respect and stop the pathetic ‘nannying’?

Yet again Channel 4 started to show Miss Match and have done exactly what they did in December: stopped halfway thru the series, in exactly the same place. I know the show was cancelled in America and not all the episodes made were aired, but more than what C4 has shown us were aired. Will you be airing any more episodes?????

You're not the only one. When I asked for answers regarding Simpsons censorship they gave me complete and utter lies - and different ones from different VE people via email. When I asked for actual clarification they told me they'd given me the only answer I was going to get and wouldn't put me in contact anyone higher up. The C4VE team must live on an ostrich farm because when asked a question they like to stick their head in the ground(!)

C4, Re: Er Adverts, the other night on C4, we had 3 mins of the show before we had another advert, and before the show has started we had the usual 4/5 mins of ads between the programmes... so, in 10mins, we had approx 7 mins or Ads and 3 mins of a programme. Please get this looked into, i've moved to taping ER so that i can FF through all the ads & i can't be the only one who is resorting to doing this. Thanks. Ethan.

They do it with Smallville sometimes too. Go straight into more adverts straight after the title sequence. (5 mins into programme)

they do that to all E4/CH4 programs now-look like advertiser are paying a lot money for it.

I have read on the Channel 4 Programmes FAQ - http://www.channel4.com/programmes_faq.html - that Year 5 of The Sopranos will begin on Channel 4 in late Spring 2006. Since The Sopranos is now on Year 6, when can we expect these new episodes to be shown?

hello, this might be the wrong place to ask this but it's driving me mad - what is the piece of music currently being used on the E4 ER adverts? Not the Sia song, I think it's a piano piece. I will die with happiness if you can tell me! Thanks.

Yes. Probably at the expense of More4+1.

Anyone know if the same happen with Filmfour on Sky? Also, will films continue to be broadcast in their original ratio on Filmfour (ie. cinemascope films are shown correctly in 2.35:1) whereas they're always cropped to 16:9 on C4 where the viewers can't handle black bars (even though Sky One have shown 2.35:1 films properly for some time now)

I'm getting very close to finishing my first book. As well as trying to get it published, I think it would make a good TV drama. Who can I approach with my ideas? I'm very serious about this. Any ideas or information?
Previously, on NYPD Blue...

My Name Is Earl- This usually gets about 15% of the terrestrial audience. Highest figure to date was 3.4 million, though that was on the night of the Celebrity Big Brother final.
Deal Or No Deal- The voiceover artist isn't credited, I'm afraid.
Acorn Antiques- We don't have the rights to show this.
Coach Trip- Probably starting in May.
Miss Match- No plans to show the unscreened episodes at the moment.
Will And Grace- No news on series eight as yet. The double bills are planned to continue until the end of the series.
Charmed- Yes, we have acquired this and will probably show it as part of T4 in the summer.
The Sopranos- The sixth and final season starts on E4 this summer. We don't have any Channel 4 dates at present.
FilmFour will become free to air on all digital platforms in July.
Spartacus- Congratulations on your book. You'll need to pitch it directly to production companies. The PACT directory (your local library should have a copy in its reference section) lists all such companies in the UK along with their contact details and what sort of programmes they specialise in. Find some that make dramas and submit your book to them.
Going Cold Turkey- We don't have a recent update, but the last we heard they were all still clean.

But will films be still shown in their original ratio when FilmFour goes to Freeview? (eg. Pitch Black on FilmFour was shown in its original 2.35:1 but whenever it's shown on C4 it's cropped to 16:9 - despite the fact that viewers are well-used to black bars now thanks to DVDs, and even Sky One show such films properly on their mainstream channel) Also, will C4 ever show the Simpsons episode "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson" (season 9, ep.1)? It was never shown on BBC2 (or C4 when the rights were picked up) after 9/11, but if the US broadcasters can go back to showing it then why can't UK broadcasters? It's one of my favourite episodes.

One of the many thing that annoys me about UK broadcasting, although, to be fair, all DTT broadcasters do this. Yet again, mainland European broadcasters are far superior in this regard, respecting the director’s views, and showing material in correct aspect. So, in the UK we have to suffer:- Censorship, Cropped films Ever increasing advertising Inappropriate ad placements (C4 are the worst offender, and have been ‘reprimanded' by Ofcom, which, clearly, did a lot of good!) Inadequate Bit rates The list goes on… Of course, C4 are the worst offenders, and given how bad they have become, I wish they would leave all the decent programming (US dramas & sit-coms, films, ‘adult’ documentaries etc.) to their better (if not perfect) quality rivals such as Five, and instead, stick to Big Brother and all the other so-called reality crap that they show! Talking of Five, bad news Re. Charmed – Now that C4 have the rights for S8, look forward to lots of censorship, ads, inane & superfluous presenters… Also, still no reply to my previous enquiry – big surprise!
