Hey Piffy, You can get a detailed (ish) rundown of the music from Illustrated Mum if you click the music tab at the top of this page, then click 'Music on TV' on the far right of the music homepage and then put the programme title in the grey 'What's That Tune' box. It has the music for a few eps there anyways. Hope you find what you're after. It's not always there though. Which reminds me..... |

Dear C4VE,
What was the music for the last few minutes of the recent prog about the Ripper Hoaxer. It was kind of minimal, glitchy, clicky and weird. Right up my street as it goes. I'd love to find out on your return from the Big Crapple. Please.

There's no-one standing in for the VE bod as he goes off abroad?
I've got a question - why does the late-night movie on C4, Beautiful Thing, have to feature a fat woman standing in the middle of the screen flailing her arms about?
It's distracting enough from a TV show, but to do it in a movie is just plain ridiculous.
I know people who are deaf who have stated that they prefer subtitles rather than a signer (since it's not optional) so why do broadcasters insist on this political correctness crap? (including the BBC who don't have to abide by such rulings but still have a bloody "Sign Zone")

C4 - do you have any plans to get the rights for "Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip", the new show created and written by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing)? Looks like it would be perfect for More4 to me, and a great replacement for The West Wing.....

Hello all- I'm back. Thank you for largely refraining from non-question posts in my absence.
My Name Is Earl- There are no plans to edit down the final episodes, which are a bit longer than usual.
Reunion- This is currently due later this summer.
Firefly/Studio 60- No plans to acquire either of these shows.

In Vision Signing- Ofcom regulations require that we provide signing on a certain percentage of our programmes. This is something that has been agreed with consultation with the RNID, who represent the wishes of the deaf community. We appreciate that not every deaf viewer prefers signing to subtitles, but a great many do communicate using sign language and appreciate signed programmes- it's worth noting that both Vee TV and the BBC's See Hear (programmes made by and for the deaf community) feature signing. This is certainly not an arbitrary policy or "political correctness". Ideally in the future the technology will exist to select subtitles in the same way that viewers can currently choose whether to display subtitles or not. Generally, we provide signing on programmes where an unsigned version is also available (eg Hollyoaks omnibus) or late night films, usually when they have been shown unsigned before (eg Beautiful Thing).
Music enquiries- I'll try to get to these later as they can take a little time. Generally, however, the majority of music used in programmes is specially composed for them and not available commercially.

C4, we're still no further forward with this. Some weeks you put them all where there's a natural break which are at the same point each week, so everything in the garden is rosy, and the next week you move them around so the 118 Shouty Idiots come a split-second after a scene so there's no time to reach for the mute before they shout at us. Once you've found something that works, why do you keep messing around with it? |

Just listened to two of the three tracks listed for Illustrated Mum and don't recognise them (couldn't find the third). It was very prevalent throughout the whole two hours so I'm guessing it was music composed specifically for the programme.

C4: / Anyone. Am I right in understanding that Sugar Rush will be repeated on C4? - I'm not a fan of this show, but i know a lot of people are, but i can't understand why it is being repeated AGAIN having only being aired recently on C4. Again, this takes us back to the old NYPD blue / West wing area. It takes C4/e4/more4 years to finally show these programmes, and when they do they only put it on digital TV, thus making it highly unfair on the people who don't have access to the More 4 channel... it took years to get these programmes aired ONCE, but then you have programmes like sugar rush aired twice on the same channel within a short period. why not move the repeats of sugar rush to e4/more 4 and then give the people without more 4 the chance to enjoy the first (and probably only) showing of NYPD blue and the west wing. Ethan.
