Did anyone else watch that travesty of a programme last night. It couldn't make up its mind what it wanted to be -- entertainment; science; art; education? And ended up being none of the above.
Spurious reasons for having a naked man stand there looking like a wally with a lady drawing on him; Puerile 'demonstrations', one showing how a coloured liquid flows through a thicker gauged tube faster than a thinner gauged tube (dohhh!); Atrocious editing; and extreme close ups of the audience's reactions -- WHY?
I'm not squeamish, and neither do I object to doctor Gunther's methods or approach to anatomy, but this programme. . . What on earth was it all about?!
It was a little better last night. But WHY OH WHY the naked man and woman? Unless you're going to cut them open as well as the cadavers, an illustrative diagram would be so much more helpful for locating the organs.
And more bloody shots of the audience! 'Celebrity Autopsy' -- Ha-ha-ha.
Tonight, at 11:55PM as I drew nearer to spending 18 years on this earth I was watching bile squirt out of an intestine like some kind of yellow jet of goo from a fountain.
I saw a bit of this... truely awful! What are they thinking of? a peculair man retrieving sand from a lady's stocking? to show glomerular filtration!!!!! I think cutting up a body on screen is horribly distasteful. What a nasty idea.
I thought that the programs were alright (although I agree the needless use of naked man/woman body art was pretty pointless).
If Biology class at School would have been that interesting I might have gone into medicine or summit. But watching bearded cordoruy clad middle-aged men explaining how leaves get their green-ness or watching frogs do it wasn't that inspiring. Turning to page 74 to see the female reproductive 'bits' was more fun.
Also, someone should sign up that Dr. Gunther to star in a horror movie - he's got that look especially with the freddy krueger hat.
