We had a general election to choose a government already. The public don't get to choose a party leader, that's the job of the party.
It seems to me that Scotland wants independence from England, so what the hell are we doing allowing a Scot to take charge of us in England… not only that but he’s not even been elected.

He`s an MP.
He must have been elected.
He just wasn`t the leader of the Labour Party when the Labour Party won the last election.
And as Skip to the End says, we elect a party to rule the country. Only his constituancy elected him, and they only elected him to be thier MP, not to be the Prime Minister.
The only people who have asay on which MP becomes PM are the Labour party mps themselves - and the most powerful Unions who have strongarmed their way into influencing the labour party.

Yeah OK so he was the second most senior member of his party and thus got promoted when Blair left, but the fact remains that he is Scot, who is now in charge of England when Scotland wants independence from us. What makes them think that we English don’t want to be independent from them? If Scotland wants to be separate then we should not allow one of them to govern us.

There is that, of course.
We`ll have to wait and see what he does before the next general election.
If he tries to pass laws or whatever that will assist the scots to the detriment of the english and welsh, then we can easily vote him out at the next election. But isn`t the leader of the Tory party also scottish?

Now that is a fact!
The SNP only ever do well as a protest vote.

The party members also have a say in who becomes their leader.
