Just wondering what your views are on the representation of sexuality on C4? Should there be more LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi and transexual) characters on the screen, or are there enough? And are existing representations good or bad? Do bad representations on TV influence peoples perceptions regarding sexuality outside the programme?

Depends on the programme doesn't it. Currently I can't see any necessity for positive discrimination. All groups appear to have decent representation -- especially on C4.
Well the gay teenager goes off cruising down the public toilets and has random sex with strangers. As if the UK didn't already think the young gay community were promiscuos and careless, they've got that show giving that message.
if ian was this neutered creation like in will and grace-lovelorn, chaste while all the straights shagged around-questions would b asked. he is sympathetic character coming out of a monogamous relationship who probably reflects lives of young gay men in that part of britain.
