On the UV map there is a hatch (number 7) that says it was abandoned for some reason or other, maybe this is the hatch of the other's 'village'?

Which would mean that it wasn't fake, it was already there and it suited thier purposes.

but then why were they guarding it with guns? And why didnt they blindfold Micheal so he didnt know where the camp was, what it looked like? Where was the computer that 'Walt' was sending messages from?

well theres at least 8 hatches right? (excluding the Pearl).

so they could ALL be abandoned for all we know. who knows how many hatches the others currently occupy.

they already abandoned one of them as soon it was compromised by clare's escape.

Why exclude The Pearl?

We have a number for that one, it was 5 of 6.

So far we've got definite numbers for two of the hatches and possibly a third from the blastdoor map...

The Arrow (?)
The Hunter (?)*
The Swan (3 of 6)
The Staff (4 of 6)**
The Pearl (5 of 6)
The Flame (?)

*This is a complete guess on my behalf, my theory is that the logo on the shark belongs to the Zoological Research Facility mentioned on the map and just to give it a name I've used The Hunter.

The logo has a belt across the middle, like Orions belt (using the constellation theme), so Orion the Hunter, The Hunter.

meh.. I thought there were 9 hatches including the Pearl then. but you probably know more than me.

I don't use lostpedia because of the spoilers. but since we're on even ground with the U.S. now I'm gonna have to do some more thorough research before S3 comes out next week. then I'll have to hide from the spoilers again.

All I posted from LostPedia was an image of the logo on the shark, it's spoiler free I promise.

And I don't know any more than what has been on the show, in the podcasts, books, trailers, etc.
