Just before Locke hears the static of the lockdown voice he is riding an exercise bike and we are shown his shoes, yet when he climbs up to try and fix the speaker he is wearing different shoes. I'm sure we were meant to notice this as it's quite obvious when John is on the bike. Also the fact that he took his shoes off when he entered may be connected. Any ideas??? I'll try to find the screencaps and post them.
It's very likely just a prop error, they don't film scenes chronologically and if you spotted something like this that means whoever was in charge of continuity messed up, it happens on such a big show.
But I can pretty much guarantee it's not a clue.
The polaroid photo Dr.Brooks takes of Hurley and Dave is a good example, the objects on the table and the people in the background don't match from the scene where the photo was taken to the photo itself.
It caused uproar...
"OMG Dave is real and the Doc photoshopped the photo"
"It's an alternate reality"
"None of the flashbacks are real and this is proof, it's all subjective"
Then someone actually asked Jorge Garcia and he told us staright, no clue, it was a prop error.
I always thought Locke took his shoes off to be quiet when he first went down the hatch?
Thanks for replying. I agree that it could be an error, it was just that they actually panned up from the shoes, rather than showing us Locke riding the bike. The screencaps don't show it though. It just seemed like it could mean something, Lost makes me find fault in everything as I'm always looking for clues!!!

And the Others get about quietly, not wearing shoes. Therefore Locke is an Other.
But they don't let him join in with their Other games, because he's so dumb.
Another prop error was the photo of Desmond and Penelope. They had to change actresses. And Penelope's letter to Desmond. You can tell from the writing that they used two.
George Lucas would spend millions correcting those mistakes digitally.

In the pilot episodes, when Jack, Charlie and Kate are heading for the front section of Oceanic 815 to fetch the transceiver, there is a shot of Vincent watching them from the jungle, followed by a shot of them from Vincent's point-of-view, accompanied by fairly prtentious music!

That was a little different, Sonya Walger is quite a high profile actress, if they had hired her at the beginning of season two for that one photo she would require proper credit, and payment for, the entire season.
It's some funny actors union rule.
If you watch that episode on the DVD or see the repeat they've now changed that scene so it's the same photo, with the proper Penny.
For a long time it was the cornerstone of many a Bad Twin or alternate reality theories.
The woman who played Nadia was similar, they changed her photo too.
Another little pointer-a while back i saw something about the Sawyer/Boar scene in series one, where we hear a barely audible voice whisper 'round the back'-and the boar follows instructions.
DO THE OTHERS INSTRUCT THE ANIMALS?!?!? :-O
Nope-probably the boar trainer giving the animal instructions, unlike the other actors, that boar can't really remember it's script, and I guess it's not so hot with improvising...
