i know its been awhile since any have been droped but i was just thinking charlie gave claire some vaccine in the last episode i think or the one b4 ive got confused coz i watched them together he said he found it in the food drop thing why would whoever drop that stuff on the island i thought that was an others thing not a hanso thing which i surpose could mean the others are ex hanso sscientists.

but also why dont the people sending the food parcels no that the hanso scientists arnt working anymore havent thehy noticed that no1 is sending data to them or maybe there are working still in some of the hatches

I didn't quite understand your post...but can I please ask about the vaccine thing? Er is it just me or don't you think it's a bit weird that Claire just accepted random drugs to inject her and the baby from Charlie - a drug addict? Or did it specifically say what vaccine it was? I'm a bit stupid...:S

I dont know if anyone mentioned this.. but i think that the doors that went down on lockes leg closed because the food is coming.. And the food delivery people did not want to be caught so they had to close the hatch off untill they had left..

maybe even not pressing the button calls the delivery people..

yep its obviosly connected to keep the button pushers inside

I'd agree that the doors drop for the food drop, the message played over the tannoy which we couldn't hear was most likely to tell the hatch operators to get ready for the doors coming down and to be on the side with the button.
When we first saw Desmond in this series (in the hatch) we saw him inject himself with the same type of device probably with the same stuff, and they probably don't know that Desmond has left the hatch as the button is still getting pressed.
Maybe they've just stopped with the other hatch experiments like watching and recording all the swan hatch operators movements, as they're jobs not as important as pressing the button is.

thats a cool thing to point out zapp i didnt even realise that happend on the same episode but then y did the map thing flash up on the closed door if they were just closing it to stop the people seeing who droped the food

in answer to blackberry yes its very weried that claire excepted unknowndrugs from a user but we dont even know if she has used them

I think I know what you're getting at, but you could try using one sentence at a time to say one thing at a time. It's not a rule, but it would help me, for one!

Claire might recognise the drug from the time she was kidnapped by Ethan. In 'Maternity Leave', she was told it was a vaccine against the sickness on the island.

What she doesn't know, but we do, is that Desmond was using the same vaccine when he was living in the Swan hatch. He grabbed a load of it before he ran off in 'Orientation'.

I think the likeliest explanation is that, so long as the numbers keep being entered, 'someone' knows that there are people inside the Swan who need to be supplied. There wouldn't be much point arranging a parachute drop just for one case of vaccine, so they'd just bung it in with the regular food drop.

What's weird is that a vaccine only needs to be taken once - then you're body gains immunity from the disease. Claire might not realise this, but if she asked Jack, he'd know.

So the 'vaccine' could be a preventive medicine (like anti malaria tablets), could be nothing (another psychological trick?), or it could be a harmful drug (the one that made Claire more compliant in 'Maternity Leave').

At least she knows it didn't do her any long term physical harm, and hasn't (apparently) harmed Charlie. But it could still be unwise to use it: it might be an addictive substance, or it might only work on infants.

The Others are the Hanso scientists , that's obvious now ....
The fact that the medical hatch in Clare's flashbacks is used to store their disguises and equipment should proove this without doubt .
