I know it does seem primarily like another albeit very interesting addition to the missing limbs list, but it does suggest something that the others do not: the monster carries out amputations. I don't know how this comes into play for Ray and the woman in Kalgoorlie, but it certainly could be relevant with regards to Marvin Candle, and quite possibly to the incident. Still not sure if it's 'the' big missing clue, but I do think it's far from insignificant....
maybe the monster got a bit hungry and decided to snack on teddy...poor teddy
