If you were Kate, Charlie or Sayid, would you have dug up the body?

No way, the mere thought freaks me out
Why bother, the story obviously adds up
Of course, after a days walk the job has to be done properly
No problem, I'm expecting an empty grave anyway

Well, I'm a pretty suspicious person, so it would occur to me that the grave woud need digging up. But whether or not I could actually do it...

I voted for 'third alternative' because my answer would lie part-way between 'No way, the mere thought freaks me out' and 'Why bother, the story obviously adds up.'

Although when I saw the balloon I did believe he was who he said he was.

I would have used my intelligence to think that ANYONE could have seen that balloon in the trees, formed a fake grave then proceeded to make up a story that would LOOk plausable to the losties.

Yes I would have dug it up, because the job needs to be done properly.

You need to remember that Sayid has a personal involvement too (more than most). His love got shot because of them, and if there is any chance of him being one of them then he needed to find out for sure.

Most assuredly. It's about the only commendable thing Sayid has done since "Collision".

Sadly, even if Henry Gale does turn out to be best buddies with Ethan, Goodwin, and Mr. Beardless, he shall still have a greater claim on my sympathy than the fellow who repeatedly vowed never to use his interrogation "skills" but seems quite incapable of kicking the habit. After the depths of immorality and inhumanity to which he has already sunk, it's difficult to get passionate about digging up a grave.

My brain tells me that yes the grave would need digging up to complete the job and completely collaborate (or dicard as the case may be) Henry's claims. Whether I could physically do it though is a completely different issue (me squeemish)!! I think I probably would have got Charlie to do the dirty (haha) work for me.

and just what would be your method or persuadstion to get charlie to do the dirty work chelle_b?

I couldn't have. But I think if one of the others suggested it I'd have stood quite far back and let them ,as I would have like to have known, but not be the one to do the looking!!

I think they needed to be absolutely certain of "Henry's" story before they came back and set him free/beat him up some more.

Although Sayid is in a desparate state...it must have been him that suggested it.

definatly i would have dug it up because anypne could fake a grave! i would have to make sure cause we know how bad the others can be they are not scared to kill anyone after all they did hang charlie form a tree and kidnaped clair and two tried to kill mr eko so you would have to make sure i loved the way sayid told henry it was so funny to see henrys face

Interesting that most people would have dug up the grave out of a sense of duty.

I was completely satisied when Charlie found the grave, hence the poll.

The grave had to be dug up. In the situation they are in, they had to do a proper and thorough job of trying to find out the truth and in this situation, that was to dig up the grave!
