LOL, but you're not because i used the phrase UNDERSTAND OR APPRECIATE [Appreciate being the key word here]..because those who you say 'claim to understand it but dont enjoy it'..surely falls under my 'they dont APPRECIATE it' category? Because if someone doenst ENJOY something then they dont have APPRECIATION for it. [Sorry for the caps but im not going to get my point accross otherwise am i, lol].

Would you prefer 2D characters you know nothing about? Would you have cared when Walt got taken if you only knew him as the whining little kid? Flashbacks give characters depth and make you care about them, along with being crucial for character development.
Having said that though, some are rather tedious and ,suchs as parts of Michaels, but they are all integral to the show.

I voted lost is fantastic.Any show that has me (and many others)hooked the way LOST has cant be that bad can it? Some weeks it feels really slow but they usually more than make up for it in future episodes. I dont have a problem with the way season 2 is shaping up.

I think Lost is fantastic too. I captures my imagination and it makes me think. I don't need everything laid out on a plate for me. I like to work things out for myself, and if I'm way off the mark, well it was fun trying. I like the fact that they uncover a little more of each character in each episode. That it brings more to the character and explains their actions from previous episodes. I like the suspense that is built up from episode to episode. Like what is in the hatch, what happened to Claire, are the others coming. In fact, I love everything about this show. I love every single character for who he or she is. There is not one person I can say I hate although there are a couple that I don't understand.
I can't wait until the next episode, and whilst its still got me on the edge of my seat, long may it continue.
