PS I think we should also blame Jack for rising crime rates, climate change, the rate of inflation and anything else anyone can think of!!! Big Grin

Jack's father told Saywer that his son is greater doctor than he will be ever be in S1.

Boone asked Jack to let him die so that wasn't really fault but Jack wanted to try and save him even though he was beyond saving.

Though it could be argued that Boone was going to die anyway, as a result of the barbaric treatment Jack had given him [oh, and the fall Wink]..so Boone just wanted to die peacefully with all his limbs and that still intact rather than go through the horrific process Jack was about to put him through..

Yeah, no doubt..but the producers made great efforts to show this..they showed him making this 'choice' to save Sarah over Adam..hence they obviously showed it for a reason.. ..that reason may just be a red-herring or it may be to indicate that Jack is a constant theme throught the rutherford/carlyse family's woe..

No doubt I accept this viewpoint..but it 'could' be argued that Jack's demons and [lifelong] obsession with being the 'hero' and the pressure of avoiding failure got to him..it became too much for his troubled soul to deal with and as a result it made him rather blinkered and unaccepting of help [eg from Sun]..therefore it could be argued that he made bad judgement calls..such as he ridiculous decision to pour his 'wrong' blood into Boone..he should have known that this would just make Boone worse [and it did]..his irrational decisions resulted in making Boone suffer more than he had to and indeed may have meant that he overlooked the best possible treatment to save Boones life. I mean, he was going to chop his leg off..a decision which was both crude and ridiculous..it showed that Jacks state of mind was all over the place..it showed [imo] that saving Boone became more of a 'personal obsession' rather than being one of genuine care for his patient.

Well he gave Sawyer the Gun..who gave it to Mike..who gave it back to Sawyer who had it taken from him by AL..who shot Shannon.. ..Dont get me wrong..I am playing devils advocate here a bit..but theres no denying [in my opinion] that Jack is an underlying and constant theme in all 3 deaths..
I must stress this is just my opinion..or should i say 'observation'..logic says that its nothing and Jack cannot be responsible for their deaths..but logic doesnt always apply to Lost..especially at this stage Wink

I do like Jack though..i find his whole dynamic and story fascinating.

I would like to give another theory, what about blaming Locke. There have been other deaths on the island. Locke can certainly be said to have a role in Boone's death, because he directed them to the plane, asked boone to go up and then witheld information from Jack.

Locke was also responsible for the plan which ultimately led to Scotts death

Although you can also say that Jack was responsible for Joanna's death because he chose to help Boone.

Charlie "you can speak English?"
Hurley "I did not see that coming!"

Ok, that thing in the woods, maybe it’s a monster, maybe it’s a pissed off giraffe, I don’t know. The fact that no one is even looking for us, yeah, that’s weird, but I just go along with it, because I’m along for the ride, god old fun time Hurley. Well guess what? Now I want some frigging answers.

Yeah no doubt..although I think the island is more to balme than Locke..what with giving him all those visions and all.. Poor Locke thought he was doing what was best for all of them wehn he adhered to the islands 'signs'. Also..and this is a key fact [imo]..Boone was still alive when he brought him to Jack..he may have withheld info but at least he didnt pour bad blood into the poor guy. Wink

True..although Sayid [and Jack] did have a large say in the matter. But I accept that Locke was the spearhead.

Good point.
I think the thing i was getting at though, is that one man [Jack] played a constant role or was a constant theme in the death of one family.. ..surely there's something in that..? maybe not though..
