I have been reading over on Digitalspy that C4 does not have the rights for the 3rd season. This means that it could go to any channel which could mean it could start anytime...

Yeah this a thread about it on the cult section of the digital spy forum. It seems legit people saying they had it confimed from C4

If it went to the BBC, there would be no "Lost Hour". It would be "Lost 40 Minutes", and even though I hate them, Lost would seem so much shorter, and go so much quicker, without the ads.

Don't forget the all new fiveUS etc that is coming to digital tv today.

They wouldn't give it to Sky because then they would lose alot of veiwers simply because they did not have sky.

But they might get more money from Sky, because of the people who pay to watch Sky and the people who pay to advertise on Sky, compared with the people who pay to advertise on Channel 4.

bbc would be great cos no adverts. hope its not sky as i don't have it.

i'm guessing five US will have the rights. But why would any channel start with season 3? for new fans they've missed out on season 1 and 2. five us in on freeview, sky digital cable and homechoice, so that should make loss of viewers a minimum if indeed five US have the rights.

Ooooh-we don't want the BBC! They plonk pretty much ANYTHING that's really good over on BBC3 at around one am.

S3 of LOST will be on Sky One in the UK.

It means we might get it sooner but some people won't be able to watch it at all.

Hey guys - we’re chatting about this over on the other spoiler-ful forum too if you want to join in. It’s been confirmed that Sky has poached the rights to Lost S3 and S4 from poor old C4 - there are rumours that they might start airing the new series in November. As for the future of this forum, I just rang Channel 4 directly and all may not be “lost” quite yet.

Spoke to ditzy woman who was very cagey and didn’t seem to have much idea about what’s going on. She said it was too early for anything to have been decided about the future of the forum yet (mind you, she also made it sound like TPTP hadn’t even thought of what to do with the Lost forum in light of today’s developments, which ain’t exactly encouraging!)

BUT she also said that Channel 4 retain the rights to show repeats of the previous two series and therefore they might keep the forum up and running because of this. In fact, reading between the lines, it sounded like they might even have the rights to show ANY repeats of any series of Lost in the future.

But you might still wanna think about finding a new Lost forum to post on just in case.

Are you sure they've lost the rights? Some shows can co-exist on different channels. Both C4 and Sky have new epsiodes of the simpsons don't they?
