I'm just watching it now, just thought i'd put a poll up for when everybody's seen it.

It was good, don't get me wrong, but I was a bit disappointed in it. Personally, I didn't feel the cliff-hanger was anywhere near as good as Exodus. So good, but still was disappointing.

I think that was as shocking a cliffhanger as possible.

I didn't understand the end. Please don't explain now, we don't want to spoil

I've seen it twice, but even after the first, I was disappointed with the cliff-hanger. And I really wouldn't say that it was the best episode ever, actually I thought it was far from it. Basically because even after the first watch I could think of answers and explanations for it, whereas I couldn't for S1. They may not be the right ones but they immediately came to mind. That's why I don't think it's anywhere near to some other episodes.

Well its a free country and we are all entitled to our opinions.... it was by a long way the best of S3.... its harder to compare to the earlier seasons.

Ive seen it about 3/4 times now, and i'm going to watch it again at 10 o clock today. It's my favourite episode yet i think, i would say it's got the best cliffhanger yet and it's SO FRUSTRATING that we have to wait until feburary of next year. Im so upset about that.. They don't even start filming until start of autumn or something. Even though i've seen it about 4 times, ive cried twice everytime ive seen it, at the same places. It's a real emotional episode.
------ i hate spoilers. and im a girl. jate forever pls.

Exactly my above point.

I didn't really 'get it'. By that i mean i didn't understand how it was a good episode. There were just soooo many deaths that i was kind of de-sesitised by the end of it. Why did Charlie kill himself? To save Claire and the baby? Him being alive or not would have made no difference to the arrival of the helicopter surely?
Also i really mourned Tom's death. He was the happy go lucky other, he really shouldn't have died imo. ALthough i think Sawyer did kind of justify his actions somewhat.
The whole flashforward was intensely dull save the whole "what's on the paper, who's funeral etc etc". But was i the only one who was annoyed by the flashforward? Because it means one of two things (imo) 1) This is well into the future i.e. past the final episode and we basically see that Jack has gone crazy or 2) This is going to be the start of next season and everyone is saved, in which case we have a very different show... why is LOST destroying all the mystery atm. I mean, the looking glass was the only thing blocking transmissions from the island? Doesn't that take away from the overal mystery of the place....
Generally iw was just dissapointed, we found out so little and the cliff hanger was so... open ended it's hard to be excited about. Don't get me wrong i'm desperate to see how the writers can make this work, but it was nothing compared to "Exodus" or "Live Togthor Die ALone".
I totally agree with you Verix.. I am well disappointed with the finale.. and what was said and done. I hope for some reason that it is a flash forward and that the outcome isn't that what we saw at the end.

There were a lot of deaths, i personally felt like they were comparing the losties to the others in that, as the others wiped dharma out, the losties have (basically) wiped the others out. The program is moving on, although i get how you were overwhelmed by it all. Charlie killed himself because he felt that it was his fate to die sooner rather than later, and he simply wanted a death of his choosing. He chose this, as he had already made his peace with the world and could die a hero.
Yeah so was I, it was murder, pure and simple, although i dont see how that equals a bad episode?
How was it dull? I thought it was brilliant acting throughout, and it completely fooled me into seeing it as another Jack flashback. I just thought the 'flashforward' was great television, particularly with the revelation at the end. It could also mean: a flashforward of what could happen should they be rescued. What with Desmond around, there is no reason why we should take this as the definite 'future', and even if it is, whos to say its where we leave off? It opens up loads of possibilitys, in fact that episode could have been the ending to lost itself if you think about it.
I dont think thats the overall mystery of the island. Not at all. And whos to say it was blocking all transmissions? Maybe only a select few..
We found out a fair amount i thought, moreso the plot moved on massively for the first time in ages, endless mystery does not equal ratings man. Surely the open-endedness adds to the excitement? I dont really get where your coming from man, sorry It was the best finale weve had, im pretty certain of that at least
