It is my guess that we will get to hear about Tony and his gang in Season 3, through Effy. She'll probably mention them from time to time, giving us an idea of how they are getting on and what not.
I don't think we've seen the last of Anwar though. I think the writers intend for him to return as a series regular. He could intergrate as a part of Effy's gang. I think that is what the writers were hinting at when they brought up his terrible grades and lack of prospects.

i dont think next series we will hear about them i get the impression that its like the end now and on to a new gang and also i dont think anwar will be bk i dont think anyway maybe he will tho im not sure.
i thought jal was really good in this episode i like believed every feeling she felt if ya get what i mean. oh and sid and toney nicking the cofen that was awsome it was like a final joyride for chris! haha

tony and sid in the car with a lil bit of BRITNEY playing in the back was awesome HAHA!! and anwar wouldnt really fit in effys gang i dont think :S!
god im watching the last episode again now how sad is it when toney is waling away from sid when sid gos off to new york its wel sad! it didnt get me to much be4 but it just did!

It has been said that the first set of cast may make an appearance from time to time in the third series but only briefly. eg. Tony comes home to see his parents, Sid returns from New York - maybe with Cassie, Anwar comes back to get his stuff. Although the writers have not finished the writing of the third series yet so this info may not happen.
And in response to Posh Kenneth - we didn't see what happened to him. I've spoken to Dan Kaluuya and he made no reference to playing him again so i don't think we will find out. However, Dan is still writing for the show so if he continues to do as well as before (with Jal's episode in Series 2) then we should be seeing some damn good new stuff happening with Effy and the new characters.

I'm guessing the only person we'll hear about is Tony because he's Effy's brother and they'll be going back to the Stonems. Really going to miss the old cast
