She isn't half as malicious as people are making out, given the circumstances.
We're seeing the downs of her mental issues. However, even with her depression spiraling, she was still the only one paying enough attention to her friends to notice Jal and Chris keeping secrets.

Seems like a very knee-jerk reaction has been shown on the forums. "She's no longer the cute and cuddly side of mental illness, don't like her!"

she just has more sides to her than we see

well it least it gave her something other then the lovely sweet girl though tbh I prefered her as the lovely sweet girl.

Not stupid.
Obviously her anorexia screwed her up and gave her mental problems. She also gained more confidence as she was recovering, she was really she=y and quiet in series 1 so I guess I prefered her in series 2, we saw another more exciting dark side her.
I'd like to know what the heck possesed her to run off to NY was though...
