The Easter break may be short for us adults. But the kids still have another week or so before they go back to school. By now, you've probably done the zoo, seen Ice Age 2 and kitted them out with new school shoes.

What's left to do? Well, that's up to you. This week's challenge is a departure from the norm. We're not after the price for a particular product; we want you to come up with what you can get for a spend of £25 or less that'll help keep the kids entertained - whatever their age - for a few moments or for the rest of the Easter break. The more original, inspired and creative you are, the better!

Tell us your idea or buy here, and we'll give the best tipster The Which? Good Food Guide 2006. This highly-regarded restaurant bible is packed full of information on over 1,200 of the best UK eateries. More on this week's challenge here.

Please note: This special Easter challenge deadline is Sunday 23rd April. Remember you've still got time to enter the power kite challenge. Deadline is this Sunday (16th April). More on kite challenge here.

CHALLENGE RULES
  • If you've won the challenge in the past SIX weeks, you're not eligible to win the prize. Please feel free though to bargain hunt with everyone else

write "continued overleaf" on both sides of a piece of paper and give it to your kids.

that would keep most of the kids round my way entertained for days.

oh, and it's free if you already have a piece of paper

Having waited till Easter Sunday to buy eggs, I was horrified to find all four shops in our village had sold out!!!
Instead I bought 12 smaller creme egg type eggs(3 for £1)for £4. then bought 3 really cute fluffy toy chicks for 59p each.
At home I set about making rhyming clues as to the whereabouts of the little chickies and eggs... My 3 children were busy for about 3/4 of an hour(nice big garden to hide things in)they loved finding 'lots' of eggs and have been telling all who will listen about the fab time they had on their Easter treasure hunt.Total spend £5.77, value for money 100%

Happy Easter Everyone!!! Big Grin

So, £25 to keep the kids happy.

I'd invite my sons best friend over for the afternoon, buy some sandwiches and sausage rolls and party foods (kids will only pick food at Easter after filling on chocs). Buy the latest kids DVD from Asda/Tesco (preferably NOT the power rangers for a peaceful day) and make a little picnic in the living room.

Lay a sheet down on the floor, get some paper plates and put the goodies on it and promise them that if they can watch the film nice and quietly and eat the food, they can use the remaining paper plates to make faces with.

Collect all the foil off the eggs, cut boxes into shapes and find odds and ends around the house (cotton wool, straws etc) and tell them that whoever makes the best easter bunny face wins a prize BUT they have to take their time and do it quietly.

Leave them alone for an hour happily playing while pinch the chocolate from the fridge (only kidding). After an while, tell them they both made brilliant bunnies, give them both a small prize and thank them for being so good.

So, afternoon to myself, kids happy, mum happy ... and I'm sure there's a bit of change over for a nice bottle of WKD Irn Bru for when they go to bed. Bliss!!!! Big Grin

(I'm such a classy chick Wink)
