More than half Brits would not recommend their bank to friends and family, says a new survey.
Research showed people were increasingly critical of how their finances are handled - with over a third of those polled more likely to recommend a brand of shampoo than their main financial provider.
Yet, statistics also show that we're more likely to get divorced than change bank accounts.
Are we just gripped by apathy? Have you changed banks recently - was it easy. Would you recommend it to others? Why? Let us know what you think.
I would recomend Alliance and Leicester Girobank..I have been with them for over 20 years (when it was just Girobank) and when we had some money problems one year they were excellent...And since then I have had no problems only helpful courteous advice. To me saving a penny here and there isn't worth the hassle if the customer service is poor! I'd much rather pay a few extra pence (or not get so much interest whatever) and get good customer service
i have 'everything' with my bank, mortgage, credit card, house/contents/car insurance - i haven't yet found a bank to beat them - i'm with the halifax haven't got a clue what shampoo i use - just pick up whatevers on offer
i recommend my bank - hsbc - for students cos i am the only one out of my friends (who bank with various different high st banks) who has actually been treated well since graduation. they offered me a graduate loan at 7.9%apr and are slowly reducing my free overdraft rather than saying oi, pay it back now!
