Hi!

Is anyone else sick and tired of hearing about debt and the banks in the media. All I seem to see is programmes about how the banks have got us in a mess and how we are all doomed. What about a factual programme for a change.

I am currently contemplating bankruptcy and would really like to know what it is like before deciding. I watch every debt programme that I hear about and they are all the same. Not one seems to give me detailed information on debt solutions, except no more loan consolidation!

Does anyone have any suggestions???

There are loads of impartial debt advice services.

The best known one (which obviously doesn't just do debt advice) is the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Could be worth checking your local one.

I contacted the citizens advice bureau and they were very helpful. Very informative. With all that is in the media at the moment I am getting even more scared but at least I am doing something about it!

I found a useful some useful sites on bankruptcy advice. The site was a nice touch for me to find out about someone elses experience. The sites that vband gave me were also very helpful - THANKS.

Though it is still bothering me that there is such little information about the various options for dealing with debt on TV - Does anyone have any thoughts on that???

Don't know about the TV aspect Tom but you can find very good advice on moneysavingexpert site and lots of very knowledgeable people in the forums.

Useful, maybe, but why do I think this is an advert now?
