Smile I would love to be a contestant on Deal or No Deal but I wouldnt be able to leave my job for long enough. I've often wondered if the contestants are jobless. Some of the same people have been there for weeks and weeks...if they are employed they must have very understanding bosses. Can nybody that has been there or in the audience tell me what the actual time period for a contestant is from start to finish.

Many thanks

The one thing i notice is that if the banker really wanted a person to go in the earlier rounds he make a really good offer over £10,000 so it worth it.
The other point is the Banker has offered some more or less than others when they have a stronger board so it not just a maths offer but also a personal one

A name did come up, but I don't remember what it was. Pretty sure it was a female though.

The banker probably knows what is in each box. After the first 2 boxes have been chosen I can tell what is in each of the others, so I'm sure the banker can.

surely no one will ever win the £250,000. For example if the final two boxes are £10,000 and the £250,000. And the banker makes an offer of say £130,000 is anyone seriously going to risk it? The only way I can see someone winning is if they have the £100,000 left with the £250,000 then there, in a no loss situation???

I agree, Keiron. Unless somebody was so rich that they could afford to lose a large amount, or drunk, or believed they were psychic and had a strong feeling the £25k was in their box.

Unless you know the formula, it is just luck. But there is a formula and after the first 2 boxes have been chosen I can tell you the contents of each box. I believe the banker probably knows the system as well.

at the time in your favour with a large sum of money. Eek
what do you think the banker would offer if there was a 1p and the £250,000 left. Something fair around the half way mark or something really low like £40,000

I was wondering that myself. I mean, if I were in that situation and he offered me £10,000, I would probably have to take it rather than take the risk of 1p.

In response to Dow...regarding the use of a formula... lmao how can there be a formula? Its random and nobody knows what is in any of the boxes unless there are trap doors under each of the desks and there is a little person running around like crazy ready to put a new amount in the box that she chooses. Maybe that is why Noel was so flustered when that woman opened the box earlier than he said. Is it possible that we might have caught a hand on camera in the box. Omg I must lead a very sad life that I could actually believe that that could happen....lol Big Grin

It is not always as simple as that but it is NOT random selection and if I can work it out, I'm sure the banker can and has done this already.

As someone said on another forum, why does anyone have to know what is inside the boxes? Knowing that there is one person (the Independent Adjudicator) who knows who has what, spoils it a bit, because there will always be a suspicion that the result is rigged. Why not just seal all the boxes and jumble them up before sticking the numbers on?

It is not luck IF you have worked out the formula which is being used in selecting which values are put in which boxes. After the contestant has revealed 2 boxes and their contents I can tell what is in each of the other boxes. I'm sure the banker can as well and he makes his offers accordingly.
Hmmmmmm...I did reply back to this posting Dow and it briefly appeared on the screen. When I checked back today for replies, my posting has vanished. That along with my "very angry viewer" one....lol. Basically my reply was to acknowledge that you were right about there being some kind of strategy to it...having taken detailed info during thursdays show of the order of the boxes picked and their contents. I predicted that box 13 would be a low number and it was.
