I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I didn't know where else to post this.
I ordered a book costing around £60 from a Singapore book company. I have ordered books from them before with no problems. However they claim to have delivered this book on the 23rd Dec, but I have not seen heads nor tail of it! They also sent me a fax from Singapore post climing the book had been delievered on the 23rd. I think this book was probably lost in the post, but this company seems to be supporting the fax from Singapore Post, and refuse to see that Singapore post cannot garrentee the book has been delievered this end, as there was no tracking number or signature needed.
I am now out of pocket around £70 (cost of book plus P&P) with no book! I don't know what I can do about this, as the laws of britain don't apply obviously to Singapore. Is there anything I can do about this?
The laws of Britain as such, no, but you may well be protected under the distance selling regulations. Have a look on the Citizen's Advice Bureau website or phone them, they'll know what to do (bad bad seller )
