It's Delta Sun Bottleneck Stomp by Mercury Rev.

It's from the album Deserter's Songs, which is an extremely good album. It was voted album of the year by NME when it was released.

Mercury Rev are an American band who came out of the alternative secene in America and were linked to grunge at one point. They've mellowed a lot over the years, and Deserter's Songs was their comeback album with a new lead vocalist. There follow-up albums 'All is Dream' and 'The Secret Migration' are also both well received, accliamed albums and definitely worth a listen.

I don't think Mercury Rev were ever linked to grunge. Their first 2 albums, with David Baker as vocalist, were experimental avant-rock, quite different to anything else at time, although there's been a long assocation with The Flaming Lips. Baker left (was sacked?) and Jonathan Donahue took over as lead vocalist for the 3rd album, 'See You On The Other Side', another album well worth a listen (some might find the first 2 too experimental).

I saw them in Cambridge touring 'Deserter's Songs' and they were magic. The next 2 albums weren't quite as good IMO and they seem to have run out of steam lately.

On the website, they've put it down as:

C4 Monday 3 Sep 9.00PM
C4 Tuesday 4 Sep 0.05AM

I presumed the really late showings were repeats...
