can anyone tell me why we dont burn a lot of the rubbish and then use the ash to spread on the land.
Many years ago when i was a child we had pig bins and food was scraped in there for the animals. In Morocco bread is still collected seperately to feed the animals is this not a possibility now here in England

Basically pollution problems such as
Dioxins, particulates and GHG emissions.

Plastic is made from fossil fuels and contains carbon from those fossil fuels.
Burn PVC and you get CO2 produced as well as other things. You would be adding to the green house gases. It would be safer to keep it in the ground, but it is much better to produce less waste.

Waste from the food industry certainly provides some food for livestock.
But most people at home would do well to compost some of their food waste.
