The ID card and the biometric passport isn’t a threat to freedom
The ID card isn’t a threat to freedom because it isn’t going to take all our freedom away. And the biometric passport isn’t a threat to freedom because it isn’t going to take all our freedom away. And the ID card and the biometric passport isn’t a waste of money. The ID card isn’t going to take all our freedom away because it isn’t a threat to freedom. And the biometric passport isn’t going to take all our freedom away because it isn’t a threat to freedom. People shouldn’t be frightened of the ID card and the biometric passport. There isn’t danger to freedom from the ID card and the biometric passport. We shouldn’t fight against the ID card and the biometric passport. The ID card and the biometric passport aren’t really bad for this county. Why should People be frightened of the ID card data base and the biometric passport?

I take it you're for them.
Liberty is the freedom to say what others do not want to hear.
ID cards will enhance our liberty, freedoms and make Britain a better place to live in. Anyone disagreeing will be deemed a terrorist and have their ID card and passport cancelled.
I am all for the ID card especially if they make systems where its useable online and can verify me as being who i say i am. For people to know exactly who i am when i want them to is actually very liberating and also knowing a person is who they say they are too is important because you dont know who you talk to online it cant be dangerous.
I for one know I am a good honest person and if any of the information which is useless personally to me can help protect or be more efficient in protecting others then I am happy to be a part of it.
Yeah the ID database is no threat to us considering this govenments record with keeping safe our details putting the entire populations details in one place sounds a great idea.
Not to mention the fact that everyone will be expected to report for fingerprinting and iris scanning and most likly have to take a day off work to do so and to top that off pay £120 for the privalige.

Thats fine, but theres not been a technology yet that criminals haven't been able to work around. I'm sure they'd find a way of changing the data stored on the ID card so it matches someone else etc.
And lets face it, this government haven't exactly got a great record when it comes to safely storing data. Or indeed setting up hugely complicated IT projects.
Trading liberty for a false sense of `security`. One should reflect how 10 years of Labour fascism has reduced the freedoms that we once had-or thought that we had!
What frightens me most about these ID cards is handing over ownership of my identity to the State/government.
This "if you've nothing to hide, you've nothing to fear" nonesense is insidious and dangerous. Your identity might be ok in the hands of a benign government but supposing a malign one comes along?
In 1925 there were millions of people in Germany who had nothing to hide. Hitler was released that year, agreeing to work within the framework of the Constitution. He did. 20 years on, 1945, many of those millions were dead.
Well, they sure didn't have to worry about their identity in State hands then.
How did it happen - data mining - one of the first such applications using punched cards and equipment supplied by IBM.
So think before you leap in with this ID card. stuff.
