Ive seen the entire first 2 seasons of lost but one thing is bugging me.

Has anyone ever wondered where exactly the others were going when they found the raft in the middle of the ocean?

Is it possible that the others make frequent visits to other land? Possibly Dharma HQ???

maybe they knew the raft was going, they did have a spy that was ethan and intercepted them. its obvious they did this cos they wanted walt

yeh but if they knew wher they wer then how come wen we saw ther boat on the radar they were goin away untill the flare was fired so mabye they were goin to land?! good spot

Don't the others live on the other side of the island, that's where they might have come from and probably returned with Walt, who they better release soon!!!

The Others have a boat. The only reason they would have a boat would be to transport them from The Island to somewhere else.

It seems reasonable to assume that there is a Dharma HQ on a nearby island, perhaps housing hundreds of operatives. I'm sure they only put on their ragged clothes and fake beards on when they come back to The Island, to give the impression that they are also stranded castaways.

I been feeling for a while that the others have somewhere quite comfortable to live in,When there not on island duty..Did not think it could be away from the main island tho...

In my opinion they were going to get Walt because "The Others" seem to be gathering up children also the "other" with the beard told Alex(Danielle's son?) to bring Kate to him when Jack, Sawyer & Locke went looking for Micheal.

that boat was a fishing boat jins dad who looks kind of like an older version of the Dharma guy has one

i'm refering back to dreadfulls comment here, don't you think that sounds like what would happen if you went into the bermuda triangle

i dont think they intended to get walt, i think they were originally going for aaron, but they just so happened to find walt, after they let the flare go.

In Exodus, Rousseau said she overheard the Others saying they were going after "the boy". She thought they meant Aaron (because they kidnapped Claire), so she took Aaron to swap for her daughter.
But the Others weren't after Aaron, they wanted Walt all along, and were looking for the raft.

it does beg the question why do the others (who i believe are old hatch workers who couldn't leave their post) not want to leave the island when they know how to?
