Apologies if this point has been raised before.. just thought of it the other day..

I've just had a wee idea about it

This is the transmission itself..

Iteration 17294530 : "If anybody can hear this, they are dead. Please help us. I'll try to make it to the Black Rock. It [or he] killed them. It [or he] killed them all."


Iteration 17294531 : "It [or he] is outside. It [or he] is outside and Brennan took the keys. Please help us. They are dead. They are all dead. Help us. They are dead."



Iteration 17294533 : "They are all dead. Help us. They are dead. If anybody can hear this—"


Iteration 17294534 : "It [or he] is outside. Please help us. Please help us !"


Iteration 17294535 : "If anybody can hear this, I'll try to make it to the Black Rock. Please help us ! They are all dead. They are dead. It [or he] killed them. It [or he] killed them all. I'll try to make it to the Black Rock


I'm thinking... what if "it " or "he" is good old smokey? It could have been outside the radio tower when she recorded the message and could have easily killed her friends.. not too sure how that ties in with sickness though...

Oh well.. free feel to leave your observations!

Reading that transmission gave me the chills. How things have changed in Lost. I don't get the "hair standing up on the back of the neck" feeling anymore. It's still great but in a less frightening way.

I suppose she could have meant smokey but seeing as we assume that the BSM can be controlled Rosseau and her crew must have been doing something to really upset the Others big time.

That was the only key i could think of that ive seen on the island (unless it was her house keys, maybe she thought if she ever got off the island she would be locked out....bummer!). But the general lack of information on Brennan and the transmission makes me wonder how important it is to the outcome..!
I would still like to see Danielle's flashback though.

It is weird how we heard nothing about the transmission after Shannon translated it. I cant remember if she spoke in english or was it all in french?

I think it was in French.

Had a look around, the one thing that did interest me is this -

Her story is inconsistent in that she had to have been on the island prior to the Purge. The Dharma Initiative was active on the island until December 19, 1992, the day which the Purge occurred. This means that Danielle cohabited the island with the Dharma Initiative for about 4 years. It's also not explained how she survived the toxic gas attack that struck the island when The Others destroyed DHARMA.

Why did she never mention the Initiative, there were a lot of them, why dints she ask them for help...why didnt they help her...? Confused

...she was also certain that when she captured Ben that he was one of the Others....but she told the Losties that she had never seen the others, that she had only heard whispers...? Ninja

Makes me wonder if Ben really WAS Alex's father...! Disappointed

Just had a thought. Danielle mentions in her transmission that "They are all dead" or "They are dead". Could she have been talking about the Dharma population on the island. And another quick thought, maybe she was sent to find Ben like Keamey was. OR another crazy out there thought, could she and her crew been sent to find and capture RICHARD!!! He was the leader of the others like Ben is/was.
