Anyone who visits the Spoiler Free forum wil know what this is – but for those who don’t…
This is the Anti-Spoiler Society. It was set up by D-Roc/Roco/Kor-evo many moons ago and it serves one purpose, to warn innocent forumers of lurking spoilers.
You use it in a very simple way. If, whilst trawling through the posts on this (or the S/F forum) you come across a spoiler that: a) has no warning, b) is not in whitened text, or c) is in the title of a thread – you report the post to the moderators and then you come in here and say the thread it is in.
For instance, if I read a thread entitled ‘Eko’ and somebody posted a spoiler in it – I would come onto the A.S.S and post something along the lines of:
Spoiler in the ‘Eko’ thread.
The purpose of this is so other people know where to report spoilers and to stop people (who don’t want to know) from finding out themselves.
I know that people may come in here and say “just go back to spoiler free, leave us alone” but I know for a fact that there are other people in the main forum who dislike spoilers. If the spoiler is clearly warned off, then the A.S.S will not report it.
In case you don’t know, at the end of each post there is a triangle (next to the reply with quote speech marks) and if you click on it, it sends you to a box where you tell the moderators that there is an unwarned spoiler in the post.
