Former Lost star Dominic Monaghan has signed to take the lead role in MGM's psychological thriller Pet.

The actor, who played Charlie Pace in the hit ABC drama, will star as a man who kidnaps his former high school crush after becoming obsessed with her. However, he soon discovers that she is not who she appears to be.

The Edna McCallion-directed movie is scheduled to begin shooting in the coming months.
