We are going to see him as a series regular next season so I think we may learn a lot about him. I reckon the eye-liner is tatooed on. No one could get it that perfect all the time.

Oh, random theory....

They found the ledger from the Black Rock in 1852 on the Ile Sainte Marie (which was mostly used by Pirates). In this ledger is an account of someone who had been to the island. I reckon a pirate has found & read this book & gone to the island himself.....

When Ben as a kid first encountered Richard and told him he didn't want to go home didn't Richard seem unsure if Ben could go with his people. He said something along the lines of "It may be possible". Did he have to ask someone, maybe Jacob...or someone else?

...i think he told him he would have to be patient, and that he couldnt go with Richard at that point (Ben wanted to get away from Daddy, & who wouldnt!).
I wonder if dear old Dicky can see the future, sees what will happen, and knows that they will need a new leader and that lovely Ben fits the bill. We just dont know who the leader was before Ben....was it Widmore?

I get the impression Richard was never their leader in the way Ben is. Widmore is a strong possibilty. How would he know so much about the island if he himself or someone that worked for him had never been there? The Black Rock book that he bought wouldn't have given him all the imformation he has now. For example he knew where the "safe place" was. He also knew where the hatch where the donkey wheel was ( can't remember the name sorry ). Does Widmore have a spy on the island?

All Ben said was that whoever moves the island cant go back (he didnt say that that person wouldnt know where the island was...we are just "assuming" that!)
Your right about slimey Keamey, he did know. Im sure there are plenty of people that Widmore could get someone to beat the information out of (remember that CCTV picture of someone being taken out of a van & Widmore was there!!), or as we are "assuming", he has actually been there.
So is the only reason that Widmore didnt get back onto the island (with Keameys lot) that he didnt have time to get there before it moved, or is there another reason for it...?

Yeah I wonder how they plan to find the island again... Charles might send out another Keamy boat...

As for Richard I now suspect hes the mayor of random city in disguise... :P

Maybe when the island was moved before it just happened to be in the same time and space as the black rock, hence it being miles inland

Yes its entirely possible he was on the BR, which means he is very very old (or hes jumping around in time & space and isnt any older than the rest!). We really havnt seen enough about him yet (Im really looking forward to that. I think he will be as interesting as Mr Linus!)
As for Ben...do we belive him or not...he can be rather selective with his information (bless him!)I think he let the 06 off the island so he can use them to get back..mercinary, maybe...but practical (he ALWAYS has a plan!)
Its possible that Widmore has been on the island (he claims its his & he wants it back)...but i dont understan why the freighter found the island but Widmore didnt turn up?
We did discuss if Widmore had moved the island (somewhere) again, possible, but again...we are waiting for more info on this...

I like your theory as to why the Black Rock is so far inland. That makes perfect sense. Richard may well have been on the ship. Just had a thought - maybe the Hostiles are other crew members of the Black Rock. There is no evidence of this though.

Hmm I seem to recall Rosseau saying the Black Rock was carried inland by a tsumami... (I hope i'm not making that up!) ... but then again ... how would SHE know?

Really hoping for more back story on Richards relationship with the island and Ben, we must see more of this in the next series. All of the employees where i work watched the 4th series, we all have our theories on Richard and the most popular seems to be that he was on the BR with the hostiles .

When we saw Richard visit Locke Jnr, did he travell back after Ben had left, make Locke do the test and get his panties in a bunch when he didnt get the answer he wanted.
If Richard was all cross with Locke when he gets back to the present day, does this cause "Bad Things"..?

Omen! You could be onto something there... does Richard get the hump enough to kill Locke? Bad guy or Good guy? and WHY hasnt Locke recognised Richard...he wasnt that young when he did the test and you never forget a face right?
