I thought the books and comics were some kind of prophecy and the others were using them in some way, to find out where they are in view to the incident. To which they are indeed stuck in a parallel dimension and some how only a few can escape though the tiny rift in the fabric of time, which could be the direction that Michael is given to stick to. Remember Ms Kluge asked Michael if he was Walt biological father, might have been that only blood relatives could pass through the rift and that Walt’s manifesting powers was they key to escape the island. In view to the rabbit there is some kind of mind association going on here the number 8 means something to somebody will wait and see.

Erm, what else did I want to chat to you about, oh yeah, last night I watched the repeat and I am sure that Ben said the 'sub is back' when she is stretchered past Kate & Sawyer.

This means they have a sub to travel between islands doesn't it, which puts a whole new perspective on things altogether!

I also think that if they have a got a sub then the new character we see in Episode Six *** PATCHY *** is definately in charge of it!

in the cave check it out guys but it is there a number 23 on the back end of the polar bear take the number on the rabbit 8 and those reoccuring numbers I wonder if they have more to the meaning of life it's self remember the hitchhiker guide to the galaxy was it not 42!

Still trying to find a picture of the 23 on the polar bear check the episode freeze framing at the time Locke flames the bear and it retreats!

The polar bear on the Island has been modified to fit in its current environment. It logically displays few of the characteristics, which made it a polar bear. In the most recent episode it has been determined that the bears are also extremely intelligent, enough so to keep Eko alive to draw Locke to them. Why do this? I think we're going to find out in the next few episodes. What I believe is that the polar bear made a "choice" not to kill Eko but if you research polar bears they sometimes keep their prey alive so when they kill it will be fresh but the mention in Locke’s hallucination trip where Boone says you better hurry they have got him I do not think that it was referring to the polar bears could have been something else that was going to get him might have been the smoke monster thingymajig all along and they was the reference to this could be that the polar bear was the(white good side) saving the fate of Mr Eko from the Smoke monster(black bad side) unfortunate Locke has got it very wrong again IMO and will have to help the other losties escape to where god only knows before the time is up for them as well.
