Well.....thats got to be the best eppi since the Pilot!!!!

Son many things to mull over.....glad to see that many of you finally see my Benny Wenny as the dude i alawys knew he was (has a smug moment )...so....

Ben controlling Smokey!!...well Danielle did say it was a security system, so its stands to reason that there would be some kind of control (or at least a release mechanism)
Ben & Widmore...Did anyone else notice Widmore in white & Ben in black, hmmmmmm!!. Changing the rules - as Blacklove has said, this is a stratergy game, so there must be rules (one of which may be not to attack family members...but she wasnt really Bens daughter...a loophole!!?)

Ben international "Kick-ass Tour" - definitly a time & space travell moment, he wasnt sure where or WHEN he was, but he definitly delt with the situation like a pro (who trained him.....Widmore?)& does this explaine the Polar Bear in the desert (is this an arrival point like a Stargate?)
Lastly for now....when Ben arrived in the destert (and later on), what is that black stick he is carrying?....my first thought was the description of an Electronic Thumb (from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galexy)this small black rod with a button on one end is used to "hitch" in space (and maybe eve time!)is this what allows Ben to travel?

Also, they both want control of the island (how long has this contest been going on?)Widmore wants it for his own ends (acellerated scientific experiments, advancement of his own company & himself!), what does Ben want...just to protect the island, or is there another reason? Was the scene of Sawyer, Hurley & Locke playing Risk a big clue??

That episode was one of the BEST so far..what with the monster going mental at Bens command...he looked all grimey and smokey himself didnt he when he emerged from the secret room. I would llike to get another look at the markings on the 'cave' door to this room myself

When Ben went into his secret room to "summon"smokey, why did he come back covered in dirt?

Hey glad ye all seen 9 now.
1. I think the black stick is merely an extendable baton as I have one similar.
2. When he lands in Tunisia it is definitely through a portal and I think there are a series of portals on the planet that interlink with other places on earth This was utilised in einsteins association with the Philadelphia experiment where the ship went from the west to east coast of America in minutes. The Bermuda triangle is meant to be a large vortice like this but harder travel through. I think Ben knowa of all these vortices and like alpert uses them for travel to a variety of timelines.
3. Ben being covered in smoke I believe is due to the fact going back to the cerebrus vents on the blast door map. Ben must mess with the mechanics of the vents to release Smokey. I not sure if he controls him fully but he understands the workings of Smokey.
4. The black white was interesting with Ben & Charles. Someone mentioned it was like star wars but I wouldn’t take it value to denote who is good or bad merely by colour.
5. Charles using the aussie accent was a major clue to something in my view. We had the risk game where Siberia and Australia were mentioned. Then Charles with the aussie accent and ben in a parka coming from a cold climate. This makes me think that Australia is the area nearest to the vortice for the island. In risk Australia is the key to winning the game so maybe it a link to the games scenario that oz is a link to winning the island.
6. Claire not dying in the explosion shows she has work or some role to fulfil for the island, having seen eps 10 I have an idea but will wait till all have seen to discuss.
7. Why wouldn’t ben be able to find penny? I would think it would be easy as ben has access to much information and if he knows where charles is why not penny unless charles has moved her somewhere.
8. I starting to believe that Charles role in the island is he wants to change destiny believing it for the greater good for mankind but that ben along with the other course correctors wants to preserve the path of god by letting nature run its cycle. All is born to die, so must the earth and go into a new cycle to regenerate itself. That is the loop Horsey. Ben wants to preserve that loop while Charles wants to break it for his own gain and greed

I dont think the black & white outfits from the visit should be taken literally either (im with Ben...obviously. Save The Island, Save The World!!!)
I think Ben will find it difficlut (but not impossible) to find Penny, Widmore knows all about ben so knows how to hide her.

i think the tunnels interconnect to all the stations that dharma built over a preexisting structure on the island that links to the temple. All stemming from undergroung passages to the mysterious volcano.

Lostpedia, go to Epi9 Series 4, look through the transcript and the words are highlighted "Ben goes through a secret door..pics are there and it says..

There appear to be 6 hieroglyphics present on the door. Clockwise from the upper left they are a man, a small wavey line, a cross or ankh, small circular shape, another man with raised hands, and an alpha-type character. These symbols appear to be determinative symbols. Roughly translated they read "to summon protection...".


From clockwise left they appear to possibily mean 1. Man striking with weapon 2. Weapon 3. Ankh- symbol of life 4. Attend, attendant. 5. Man with weapon 6. Bind, seal, or summon.



Just as i thought...this door and tunnel are OLD (the same age as the foot maybe?)...Dharma didnt create it, they just found a way to summon it (even if they cant control it!).

I thought that the Hyroglyphs looked like a modern interpretation of the ancient Egyptians scripture, I cant explain it, but it just doesnt look "right" Have been to Egypt a few times and have loadsa books on it, there is just something about it that doesnt sit right (quite apart from the fact that we only ever see hyroglyphs on stonework, the door appeared metal)

They arnt egyptian, but the egyptians wernt the only civilisation to write in pictures. It could be south american or it could be something nobody has seen (i mean...4 toes on a foot...blummin big statue!)Im still going for something very old with these tunnels...the BSM is so elemental...just a felling i suppose...
