I know it's Mad, but I just had a theory that Kate's New Lover was a She, due to Spoiler fix saying the reason she's OK is because of her New Lover...and it also said she had a Lawyer called Susan helping her through her Trial...so I just thought Susan must be "the One" helping Kate get it together. I just thought it would be funny if despite all this Jate/Skate stuff Kate just decides to turn Lesbian.
Then I remembered at the end of Season 3, Kate said: "I got to get back to him."
