What are everyone's thoughts about this episode?

I thought it was quite boring apart from the great twist at the end, I'll get to that in a min.

When the flashforward began, and as it was about Kate on trial I actually thought it was a flashback, lol what a muppet. I was all 'ooooooh!' when Jack came into the courtroom and I began thinking that they knew each other before the crash. What a plum lol.

I found it interesting how Jack completely lied through his teeth about the crash. Only 8 survivors? He must mean the Oceanic 6 plus 2 others. He said these other 2 died. I wonder who he said they were, indeed whether he said he knew who they were. The way he was talking sounded like they died in the water where they all landed after the crash.

Miles is an interesting character. He seems very much all about his own means. I wonder why he want exactly 3.2 million. Either he needs to pay someone or he just wants money. If he just wants money then he must be able to get back to the 'real world' - the only place he can spend it. He also mentioned that he and the person he works for know about Ben and things he has done, I wonder what these things are.

Kate is annoying me, she only goes near Sawyer when she needs something and then throws him away very soon after. What is she playing at?! People are not going to put up with that behaviour for very long, she comes across as very selfish.

The best part was the end (which I actually worked out for myself, and I am quite proud of it seeing as I'm not that smart a lot of the time lol). You are meant to believe that Kate has a son, and after she talks to Jack about 'the baby' I'm guessing you are meant to believe she has had Jack's baby, as she talks about not being able to have coffee with Jack until he can bring himself to visit her and the baby. It was at this point that I worked the truth out. When she gets home to see her 'son' she goes to see him in his bedroom, he looks about 1 to me. Anyways, he wakes up and calls Kate 'mummy', but then she hugs him and calls him 'Aaron'. Then in true lost style the episode ends there.

So.....either Claire is dead OR she is still on the island and told Kate to take Aaron with her so he had a chance at life. I want to believe the second but then that would make Kate out to be a bit selfish in that she should have let Claire go in her place.

Miles though, hes just greedy- he stole money from that lady's house too didnt he? When the ghost spoke to him??

Oh yeah...I had forgotten about that. It's a very specific number to ask for though, it makes you wonder why.

I think it also becomes clear that Jack knows about his link with Claire and Aaron. I wonder how he finds out. Maybe officials had worked out that 2 of the survivors had the same dad and so were related. Maybe Jack didn't even know until he got off the island. I really want to know what happened to Claire.

Loved this epi...best or second best of the series so far. I does raise even more questions and answers very few...but then again it is lost. Does the ending suggest claire is dead or stuck on the island? i think so. Good to see jack on his two feet again but why doesnt he want to see aaron????? do people know kate has a "son" and if so why is his age not being questioned...could be related to the time diff on the island. Also he mom said she had been told she had 6 months to live for the past 4 years...does that tell us anything about when the flashforwards are set?

p.s did anyone notice when kate and sawyer were on the bed his hair kept changing! awful editing! funny though

Well, I dunno if it was the best of the season so far, but twas interesting!

The first thing that jumped out on me (I know I keep going on about it) How come the outside world thinks that the plane was found in the Sundra Trench in the Indian Ocean, but Jack clearly states that they crashed into the ocean near a south pacific island???? Its just seems so obviously wrong its stupid!


I thought it was weird that a guy like Daniel who is apparantely very intelligent had trouble memorising 3 cards - or do I have the wrong end of the stick??

And how does Kate explain how she has a child who is four years old? Unless she pretends she was pregnant when she flew I spose??

As per usual, more questions than answers. And Ben is brilliantly cleverly nawty!!

Oh, and I forgot to say, Locke is soooooooooooo getting on my wick at the mo!! (apart from the grenade bit which was pure class)

He is heading for a fall methinks....he thinks he is cleverer than Ben, and he SO IS NOT!!

Overall i thought this was an alright episode.. but it didnt rly reveal that much. Kate annoys me so much ! I wish she would stop messing sawyer and jack about it really gets on my wick !

And when jack was telling that story in court about how kate was brillliant etc was he talking about when they very first crashed or did something happen whilst they were getting off the island.. ?

Oh and what was kate on trial for ? Was it the crimes she had previously committed before she crashed or was it for something else... ? Sorry i get confused easily :P

Yeah it was the crimes that she committed before the crash. Don't worry I get confused too, I thought it was a flashback!!!

Hmm....was he memorising 3 cards or was he trying to predict what those 3 cards were.....? Don't know, I'm gonna have to go back and watch brb x

Yeah it actually seems as if he is trying to remember them after already seeing them. Charlotte says 'it's time' like he's had a certain amount of time to remember them.

Maybe he is seeking help from the island, maybe he has some sort of brain damage/condition.

It does seem very strange when he is obviously an intelligent fellow.

You know I watched this yesterday and I actually thought the baby Kate had was Sawyers (they had been sleeping together - and he had blonde hair like sawyers) and that was the reason why jack did not want to see the baby. I only worked it our last night before going to bed that it was actually Aaron!!!!

What happened to Claire? Did Kate abduct the baby for herself or to help her case in the real world??? Or did Claire willingly send Aaron with her? Is Claire dead? And why on earth did Jack not want to see the baby????

When I realised it was a Kate falshforward I groaned inside. As with all her episodes I did not like it compared to the rest of the episodes. And yes, it's awful the way she treats Sawyer and Jack.

I thought that too, but they might cover it when Claire's episode comes (I wonder when that is - seeing as we have only had two episodes about Claire's life in THREE seasons!!)

I was thinking exactly the same thing Munky, Claire is supposed to be one of the main characters but she isn't really involved any more, it's been that way for ages.

It's true about her getting over Charlie's death quickly too, if I was her I would be an absolute nervous wreck. In 3ish months she has:
-survived a plane crash
-been living on a strange island with 'monsters'
-been kidnapped
-given birth
-continued to look after a child with a lack of proper resources
-had to deal with island issues
-Her best friend on the island has just died

why does she seem quite emotionally stable? Surely all that would have some sort of effect?!

yeah I came to the conclusion a while ago that Claire's a robot you see.

I wonder how Miles is getting along hanging from a beam with a grenade in his mouth....

Is it just me or has Locke mixed up the severity of the punishments for Kate and Miles?

All Miles did was ask to see Ben. Kate went behind Locke's back and fooled him so that Miles could have his wish. Surely Kate has done the worst thing?

I also don't understand why she hasn't told anyone about what Miles said when he told her that he was exactly where he wanted to be. That just sounds completely dodgy to me, and no matter whose side she is on, surely it can't be good for her either way.

Pinkpixie - I think Locke believes Miles to be one of the "evil" freighter people, he doesnt trust him and has no respect for him.

Kate, on the other hand, has been part of the group for a while, and I think Locke realises she did it for purely selfish reasons, and wasnt about to let him go or anything.
